Be realistic!

3 quality starter ( ones that we are not constantly trying to replace ) and 2 solid part time role players that sticks around for 5 + years. I'm not sure we have it looking at the current draftees.

That's a very tall order

2 Starters and 2 contributors usually constitutes a good draft

For this team to have a quick turn around we need to hit on quit a few of our pick and have to get very lucky on URFA. Or else we will be in the twightlight zone of 7-9 to 9-7.

Yeah, don't expect that to happen

Whether it makes us dramatically more successful or not as a team, coming out of this draft with two staters and two role players would be a dramatic resounding success.

If Martin and Lawrence live up to the billing that's your two starters. Now just need to find two contributors among the likes of Gardner, Bishop and Street
Be real nice if we get another starter out of this somewhere.

That wouldn't be a success, that would be a grand slam.

It is a success if and only if everyone we drafted is an All-Pro next year!!!;)o_O Seriously though two quality starters would make me happy. One caveat though if our doubling down on Romo's health fails and Manziel starts lighting up the league then I will forever be upset with this draft for not taking Manziel when he was sitting there for us.

If Marinelli is still here and coaching. Otherwise we'll be looking at a bunch of guys he brought in, but are being "developed" by somebody else. Not usually a good scenario IMHO...

No way 3 depth guys stay for 5+ years.

The rest of the league will pay to pillage them from us, especially if they're worth keeping 5 years and we don't pay them to be quality depth, which in today's salary cap structure, no shot!

But I would definitely say that's a great draft.

If Lawrence and Martin ball and Manziel is a bust
Cleveland's already telling him to act like a back up?

They want to get Aaron Rodgers yields out of him.

Problem is, the hype is what pumps the kid up to play the way he does.

Johnny has extreme SMS.

You feed it and he'll believe he is bigger than he is and only then can you yield those rewards you desire from him.

When I heard this news today I thought it was a little much by Cleveland. Hey maybe he'll be available in 2-3 years

minimally, we have two starters from the draft...Martin (of course) and Lawrence (who is almost a starter by default, although I think he would be one anyway)

contributors could be anywhere from zero to 4 or 5 depending on if Marinelli can get something out of the DL guys and Street can grab that 3rd WR spot and challenge for #2

That is a good point
Johnny might respond to positive reinfircement better than negative reinforcement

I like the fact that Cleveland told him that. One of the biggest question marks on him is if he's willing to commit to do the work that it takes to become an elite QB. They are going to make him earn it and I like that.

Role players don't stay around for 5+ years unless they can't find a team to give them a modest raise after the first contract.
