I would love it if the Cowboys didn't cut Matt Johnson

And kept bringing him back every year just to see if he could ever get through two weeks of practice without injury.

Lets see if anyone can answer my question:

I had Matt Johnson over one sunday afternoon to watch a football game and he stood directly in front of the TV but I could still see everything picture perfect. Why?

I just hope he can get past these injuries and get a chance to get out on the field and prove himself. I don't think he is asking for these injuries he has worked hard to try and avoid it going as far as changing his diet and workouts. I fully understand if he can't manage to stay healthy he does nothing to help the team and should be released. However I see no reason to mock the guy, he is trying that is more than any of you have done.

I have a feeling he gets cut this time and just when all of you are celebrating and dancing on his grave you will find out he's been signed to the practice squad.

Don't think he's PS eligible since this is his 3rd season, granted he's never been active for a game in that time.

He appears to be eligible:

  • A player is eligible if he does not have an accrued season of NFL experience. Players gain an accrued season by being on the active roster for at least six games.
  • If a player has one accrued season, they can still be practice squad eligible if they were on the 45-man active gameday roster for less than nine regular season games.
  • A player is deemed to have served a season on the practice squad if he remains on the practice squad for at least three weeks. Players are eligible to be on the practice squad for two seasons.
  • Players can be eligible for a third practice squad season if their team maintains no less than 53 players on the active/inactive list at all times.

I agree, it's just that some guys aren't built for the type of strenuous activity and extreme hitting, being hit, cutting and running that the NFL level requires. It's different in high school and College.

He's probably one of those guys who weren't made for this.

Just not here. Like most fans, I've had enough.

I don't think he is made of so called glass I think he has just had some poor luck, at 6'01" 212 I don't think the guy is too small. Whatever the issue may be I think we all agree that time is running out.

You had enough? He is the one having to endure it. I agree his time is running out and either he can get out there and produce or he will likely be gone. I just think mocking the guy is pretty low after all it is not our career that is hanging in the balance.

I seriously doubt there's enough healthy tissue left in Matt's hammies to allow a healthy full game, much less a healthy season.
Every time an ahtlete has a hamstring pull it adds to the scar tissue that has already accumulated on that particular hamstring.
The more scar tissue that has accumulated there, the higher the chances for another pull, due to loss of flexibility in the muscle.
The less flexibility that is present only increases the likelihood of yet another hamstring pull. It's an increasingly viscious cycle.
There comes a time when the likelihood of another injury totally and completely overcomes the chances for a return to normalcy.
Sorry, it's sad to say but there is every indication that Matt Johnson has unfortunately been cursed to have arrived at that point.

Perhaps it's finally time to face the music.

Just probably not here.

Injury prone equates to not being very good. IMO the great ones avoid it somehow. I think their great athletic ability is why. Which includes superior athletic intelligence.

How about this, let just not cut anyone that way all the player feel good. Man this dude has gotten 2 years of NFL checks (not practice squad check) if he's cut then he should feel like the luckiest man to play err be in pro sports.

It would be fun just to see the CZ meltdown.
