Rappaport gets a vote? Kind of diminishes the value of the award.
I don't think he does. I thought the voters were composed of sports writers, not "NFL insiders" who work for the NFL.
No, I think this may be related to Peter King's informal MMQB awards where he had a pool of 31 people vote on the NFL end of season awards. I may be wrong... but I don't think this means Dak has gotten a REAL MVP vote.

The whole Ryan thing kills me. They were 8-8 last year, right? They were supposed to improve with more weapons. Plus it didn't hurt that Carolina rolled out the red carpet for them to take over the division this year.

So he gets props for not stinking it up in a QB friendly offense. The same offense that made RG3 look like he could play. Whatever man...

He did more than just not "stinking it up."

His reasoning is perfect. We were in a very similar situation last year and failed miserably. With him, we led the NFL.
Well, it does ignore a few things. This rookie class boast 4 starters. So he is not the only difference...just the biggest.

Peter King had an article up where they did a mock MVP vote with Ian in it as well and Matt Ryan ran away with it. Prescott wasn't even top 6. It was Ryan, Brady a distant second and everyone else not even close.

How Brady is an MVP is beyond me. They went 3-1 without him. They have proven they can win without him. 10-6 in 2008. We were 4-12 last year with pretty much the same roster we have minus two guys.

They need to just name the award most popular player.

I don't get how Zeke isn't in the top for MVP. Team was 13-2 when he was playing ran away w rushing title first team all pro best record in the NFL. I know it's usually qb but this one year Zeke should be up there right in the convo not an after thought

Maybe this has been said before, but is Rapoport Tony's doppelganger? Its kinda like he voted for himself. :)

Dak has 0% chance to win the MVP award this year, but it is still pretty awesome that a 4th round rookie is even in the conversation.
It seems that you have to put 2 seasons back to back to seriously be considered.

And it is better that DAK doesn't have to carry that title right now.

Next yeat will help him get an award for MVP if he can maintain what he is doing.

He has plenty of time to show they are wrong.

Making the SB and winning MVP would help for next year, too.

My estimation of Rapoport just went up 100% with his voting of Dak as the MVP.

He showed good judgment there and I couldn't agree more. I'm sold on Dak, too.

I mean really the same thing can be said for Dak "he took a team that was 12-4 when healthy, with the best o line and tying the best rb in the league".

Ryan has had a phenomenal season. (Just not better than Daks ;))

Yes but the dude has probably played his best football and I doubt they'd be as good with any other QB.

I think if you look at Daks situation and he should be Rookie of the year with Zeke as Offensive Rookie of the year. But I think what hurts Dak is that the boys could be in the same position with Romo if Dak was injured or somethin and that kinda goes against the whole MVP thing if that makes sense. I'm not saying I agree with that thought process, but it's a legit argument. That's not a knock on Dak. But it has to play a part.
I get what you are saying...but if Romo replaced Matt Ryan I believe the Falcons wouldn't have lost a single game all year.

I don't like the MVP just being about stats. Stats are very overrated when not all teams run the same style of offense.

Btw...I believe Zeke should be MVP. Not just because of stats...but because of how the entire defense needs to over commit and fear him every play. His impact has been huge...defenses only care about stopping Zeke these days. Stopping Zeke is the key to stopping us.

That's the same award. There is only offensive and defensive rookie of the year

But that's my point not every team has a Romo. So it becomes a disadvantage for Dak right or wrong and I don't agree with it. That's why when everyone calls Romo a backup I scratch my head. He isn't your typical backup. You put Romo on any of these playoff teams and they're solid teams and would skip a beat.
