Ehh, I think he would be slow. He would have to be possession type receiver or bulk up and be a receiving TE. Gates and Graham were forwards or post guys like Gonzalez they were used battling on the block with guys as big or bigger then them. Lebron is a finess player and I do not believe he could stomach a shot form an NFL safety.

Lebron is a finesse player? HAHA You don't watch much basketball apparently. He already weighs as much as Graham and Gates, no bulking up required.

He wouldnt have to bulk up to play tight end, and would truck most NFL safeties. Jimmy Graham is not a muscular guy,and he does just fine. LeBron is more muscular than Graham. He would be a monster on the field, one of the all time greats at tigh end. At worst he would be Martellus Bennett or Jermichael Finley

LeBron could be a Hall of Fame Tight End or top 3 basketball player of all time. I think he made the right choice, especially with the potential of serious injuries in football.

Of course he made the right choice, just like I tell my nephews. If you can play something else, do it, football is fun to watch others do it but if its your life or a loved ones......point them elsewhere if possible.

LOL Lebron would dominate in the NFL. It probably wouldn't even be fair. He can't take contact but a guy like Desean Jackson can? Please. Lebron would dominate even if he decided to try it in his 30's. He could probably be 35 years old and still be a pretty good tight end in the NFL.

I agree, football is a great sport to watch. And much more fun to play, but its brutal. Players are getting bigger, stronger, and faster. The collisions and hits are getting worse. If you are gifted enough to play other sports, go in that direction.

I have a funny feeling that he is going to give it a try one day. Jordan retired to play baseball. Maybe LeBron will try to mirror his career and play football.

He is 28, and if he wins 2 more championships the next few years he may give the NFL a try at 30.

Well him and Jordan aren't that close, and Bron has said he would like that to change cause he would like to be closer to Jordan. If they were close, I could see him trying it out, but if not why would he do it other than boredom. Jordan tried baseball cause of his dad, don't know if Bron could float anything about Jordan in his excuse to play football.

One thing is for sure, if he was to even think about football, we would get the first call. That alone should peak our interest on the subject.

Yea if he does it I think it will be in his 30's. Probably early 30's.

People are acting like Lebron is just "some NBA player" He isn't, he's a once in a lifetime kind of athlete.

I think Lebron would be hugely successful in the NFL. Think of guys like Gates, Graham, Julius Thomas...former basketball players turned TE. Why couldn't Lebron be just as good or better than those guys?

If you need a TD, it's not really unfathomable to think that Lebron could bring down a red-zone fade 90% of the time.

I don't know if he could just drop basketball and slide into football now, too many variables. It's possible, but who knows.

But I do think if he had chosen to focus on football from the beginning, he would have been unstoppable.

I agree with 3rd scout

The third scout had a different take: "He wouldn't be able to take the physical abuse. A guy that tall crossing the middle of the field would get killed. I don't think he would last a single game."

He could play DE in the 4-3 scheme if he focused early in life. I dont see his skill set working at WR.

I don't think he could cut it in the NFL if teams were to get physical with him.

Yep. Just playing chuck and catch is one thing.
Having a DB work you over in the process of getting off LOS and down the field is another..

He's strong and big....and he could literally just outjump everybody..
we could literally just lob it up and watch him come down with the ball.

My money would be on Lebron.

I see no reason why he couldn't be a TE.

Lebron in Dallas would be a total side show and distraction to the team. No thanks.

Jimmy Graham on steroids.

I'm positive that if he had made football his choice he would have HOF potential.

He chose the right sport though. Way more money and 99% less chance of having brain related health issue later.

Its hilarious when some think that guys on Bron's level couldn't compete in this league, when you have guys like Gates and Graham who dominate it but were marginal bball players. Some guys choose bball over football merely to save their body from the violence of football, and heck I would too.

If Bron actually wanted to play football, he would be a dominate force and with the new rules DBs couldn't even take his head off for being so tall. The plain truth is that there are alot of power forwards in the NBA that could play NFL football at a high level.

In the future I expect to see receivers, especially TEs, get taller and taller with the new rules.

I agree I think he has all the tools you would want in a TE.
