But he
is thinking, unlike many on the board who are merely feeling the love for Dallas and can't
imagine Romo preferring fiscal stability for life over enjoying for an additional number of years the Cowboys' mystic.
The same people who couldn't
imagine, when he was a mere UDFA back-up, Romo ever becoming the
starter for the fabled Dallas Cowboys are very likely the ones who now aver that the idea of Romo leaving the Cowboys (or refusing to play for them in a 10 month hold out) is an impossibility.
Jerry Jones and Romo's agent may get it all worked out shortly, but as has been said since before training camp, Romo has the upper hand. He is not afraid to risk the situation and I think Jones is. And, despite the exclusive tag, Romo could easily sit out ten months of the next season if the franchise tag irritated him. He does have endorsement income, don't forget.
An amicable arrangement is likely, but it is foolish, in my opinion, even on a message board, to risk in theory the opportunity to preserve a franchise quarterback on the supposition that the Dallas team is the only one in the NFL Romo would gladly play for.
