If a QB had 33TD's and 8ints in a season

Here's a suggestion.

When we win the Super Bowl, all "Romo haters" will be temporarily banned for a week.

I fixed it for you. :D And he didn't call anyone dumb and uneducated or come anywhere near saying that.

Funny...but yes, he did generalize with his comment. Just because someone has a different opinion does't mean they are dumb or uneducated.

Romo is never going to win a super bowl. He would literally need a defense to carry him to one AND win it for him by overcoming his mental mistakes. That would take one hell of a defense though. I don't think defenses can do that in todays NFL.

Hey, what are his January statistics over the last two years?

Could we just stop these types of threads now? You will never convince people who don't like Romo that he's anything but a choker. If Romo won the Superbowl and was the MVP you wouldn't need to bother with any I told you so threads either because those people won't be around anyway. They're so invested in him sucking that they can't afford for him to win.

and fans of him will never think he's terrible. This is a pointless argument.
I agree. It seems like the only reason people make Romo threads is to build huge thread numbers. You're almost guaranteed to get 4 plus pages if you talk about Tony Romo. They also make these threads to get under the skin of people like me who want a different QB. And then we get in trouble if we go off, this is why I say what I have to say and move on.

I wouldn't characterize myself as a Romo "Hater" as much as I am a Romo "Hope for the best, but be very leery" fan, but that said, these kind of ridiculous statements make me crazy.

I love the Cowboys, but to predict a Super Bowl with this team is nearly comical. Would I want it to happen? Of course, but with this team, I won't hold my breath.

So that said, because the statement is so outlandish, can we ban Romo "Ridiculously Blind Loyalists" for a month when we don't win the Super Bowl?

Sounds like you gave him a pass.

Nah.
I was furious.

But when you look back, I began to ask the question " has any QB ever led their team to a win against those type of odds?"
Ever?

When I thought about, I began to see how totally moronic it would have been for me to see it for anything more than it was. A rough game in a terrible situation by a very good but by no means perfect QB

No mod has addressed you nor would you get benched for your posts here. Other members are more verbal about it though. You can't complain constantly and not expect people to get a tad annoyed. And there is no conspiracy to get you into trouble either. If you think people actually make threads to get under you skin then you need to reassess your boundaries and how you choose to act. No one forces you to comment much less do something that would get you into trouble. People are responsible for their own behaviors Clove. There are no victims here.

Would he be a candidate for league MVP? Just curious since these are Tony's TD/ints numbers in the last 16 games in December and January...you know those months where he is absolutely horrible and holds back our team from hoisting trophies... He needs to have better numbers for us to win! Like 50tds and 0ints!? Clearly it is QB play that is our problem..

I have no idea why you posted this because it is painfully obvious that Romo needs to step up his game. With these paltry numbers I say ride Romo in November and replace him with Orton come December.

Can't do that!...the board will be dead.

I don't think it's that extreme. Slow down, yes, and it wouldn't be just for a week. If Romo leads this team to a Superbowl win, at any point, there are a handful of people here who would simply never return. It would be soul crushing for them.

You may want to look more closely at that one.
Not his best game for sure.
But he was pretty much playing with Iowa State's team that day (I mean, that team was totally depleted on both sides of the ball) at a red-hot division rival's home field, with busted ribs, no blocking, no run game at all, no game plan, no nothing.
He does not get a pass, but the situation was about as impossible as anyone could dream up...especially near the end with all that plus all of his WRs gone. I'm sure he thought he had to carry the team, again.
Bad game though, yes.

This is the exact reason why you guys who rush to make excuses aren't taken seriously. Your last line should have been all you posted. Yes, he had a bad game. Nothing else be said.

But there will always be two paragraphs excusing his gaffs.

So either Romo played well, or not.

Some days he plays like no other quareterback in this league. He is amazing.

Other times he makes mental mistakes or risks far too much.

It is not the fault of those that point out that some of his worst games come when all the chips are on the table.

No it wouldn't. Every one of us that question his mistakes want the team to win. You and others would love for it to be just that easy.

But what you fail to realize, or refuse to take into account is I can like Romo, but refuse to make excuses for his mistakes.

I'm just as big a fan as you or anyone else. I just don't truck with excuse making for Romo or anyone else, player, coach, and especially GM. Regardless if you like it or it hair lips the governor.

Has anyone on here ever thought of Tony as a league MVP? Seriously?

I've never ever thought that & that's no dig on him.
