God only makes so many 6'6" 320 lbs men NT who can move. If you pass on one this year, you're taking a huge chance that one will be available next year when you absolutely must get one.

you take him

only thing that's a big worry is his conditioning in the Pros and the fact that he might struggle w/ the intensity of it, but as Inman said, God only blesses few athletes who possess his size and quickness

I very reluctantly voted 'yes'. He would be a big risk. Nonetheless, none of the other plausible possibilities are doing anything for me.

Yes, take him without thinking twice, I bet he's purposely overweight cause he heard he was going to the deadskins and vomitted at the idea. Intentionally sucking at his workouts to fall :D

You'd have to consider him, but it also depends on who else is there at 22.

Even with his stock having dropped, I just can't see Branch falling to #22. If he's there though, we better pounce on him.

Isn't Branch pretty much a lock top 10 pick?
I'd take him at #22.

In case you are wondering, I'd also take Calvin Johnson and Adrian Peterson at #22 if they fall there.

Not according to the scuttlebutt around these parts today: knocks on his motor, his food troughin', his interviewing skills.

you always have to be difficult

don't you? :p: :D

I like him, and I think he's going to be a very good player, and I understand we're gonna have a need at DT since Fergy is up there in years. I just want some offense taken this year and I'm not talking OL either. We've already put a lot of money and first round draft picks into that defence. Also, I actually think in almost every thread I end up agreeing with you, no matter the subject.

Ditto. If we were a 4-3 team, I would have definitely voted 'yes,' but I'm not sure a 3-4 NT is really worth a first round pick. I don't think the Patriots have got enough out of Wilfork to consider him worth that high of a pick.

I know I'm in the minority here, but I would have to pass on him after some of the more recent evaluations of him. Going by some of the recent scout and "analyst" evaluations, his bust potential is pretty high. To me, a first round pick is far too valuable to use on someone like him. I think I'd take him if we could trade back a few spots and pick up some more picks though.

If we don't get him, we could get Soliari in the third or fourth.

He's a starter on a yearly Super Bowl contending team. That would justify a 1st rd pick in my book.

Depends on who else is there, but if he is, then someone else isn't.

And it's not very likely there is a better player out there.
