If Dak can't throw, how do you explain 2016?

1)OL—Smith’s not the same, Williams is a rookie, and Fredbeard’s out.
2)Starters didn’t play enough in preseason.
3)Linehan’s scheme doesn’t best utilize Dak’s skill set.
4)Dak’s not a franchise QB that can carry a team.
5)Because Of The first four, a team can load the box and neutralize Zeke.

Even with all that, we STILL could have won the game.

See above, Romo coached/mentored DAK. There is so much a QB has to know, read defense, protections, plays etc. DAK had the best coach on the Cowboys team helping him. After Romo's departure....DAK was left to figure it out on his own = drop in performance

Romo on the Team = DAK Shined
Romo gone = DAK disappoints

The same logic can be applied to Mark Sanchez.

  • Romo was in his ear.
  • He had everything perfect around him.
  • No one really knew what to expect from him.
  • He regressed, for whatever reason he doesn't go through his reads at all now 85% of the time
  • He is gun shy... won't pull the trigger when he needs to, even if he does see it.
  • Scared to run the ball, for being told not to, or just unsure himself
  • Doesn't sense pressure, because when he goes from the shotgun, he turns his body to the right, and doesn't even look anywhere but right... (part of the problem with reads, and he doesn't have a clue what is coming on his blind side. So ge gets smashed)
  • He doesn't set his feet, does some of the most ridiculous things with his feet, when throwing the ball
  • Can not throw an out route to save his friggin life. Can only throw short underneath and go routes (sometimes)
  • Doesn't make correct adjustments at the line
  • Too scared to turn the ball over, which unfortunately for him, doesn't make you want to sign a new deal. When you can't win without taking some chances. But many of the things he thinks is taking a chance, are passes other QBs do all the time at will.
  • All the talk of changes and work he was doing in the off season... You saw none of this supposed improvement. Reads, mechanics, adjustments, awareness.... all the exact same.
  • Sense pressure when it isn't even there.
Probably missing about 30 other things...

Our coaches are our coaches. Romo was just a guy that didn't have it all.

Haha if Romo didn’t have it all then Dak doesn’t have it at all because Romo was 10x the QB Dak Prescott is at this moment.

Romo is gone. He’s no longer anyone’s scapegoat. The focus now is on Dak and how he has steadily regressed since he entered the league.

He didn’t exactly light the league on fire in 2016 anyway. He was missing throws and having difficulty seeing the field then too.

its the only hope Im hangin on to...his performance his rookie year...particularly his 2nd half performance v green bay in the playoffs...and the first part of last season.

but what gives me major concern....with an off-season to work on his game....an offense that was made "friendly" for him and a revamped WR corps to fit said "friendly" offense......we see the same damn issues....holding the ball to long, bad throws...missing high....bouncing passes.

I like Dak...he's a good guy....and I dont expect a third year QB to play like a 6yr vet.....but I expect to see improvement in year 3.....and having the same issues surface was alarming....I hope he turns this around because where he goes from here...he takes us with him.
He's got this season....if it continues like sunday.....draft a QB in Rd 1.....sign a vet and let the best man win.

Coach Landry said you find out about a player in year 3.
here we are....year 3....its up to him.
No more excuses.

bottom line...BEAT ny.

This is just not even close to true and refuted by people close to the team. Everyone agrees that Sanchez and Moore were the two people in Dak's ears, not Tony. Stop pushing this false narrative. It gets annoying hearing the same thing after a while.

This, everyone associated with the team says Romo was not involved.

And it's all about the OL, they just aren't giving him the time or the run game he had before.

Dude you saw Tony with him on the sideline. Seriously.

And Dak himself came out and said how amazing Romo was when it came to helping him. Don’t know where you got your info from.

If dak can't throw, how do you explain 2016?

If zeke was a crutch for dak in 2016, how do you explain week 1?

It's simple. New things can take the NFL by storm and have great short term success, until they are studied and then they become ineffective. Players like RGIII and Kaepernick are examples of this. Coaches Like Chip Kelly. Defensive schemes like the 46 Defense used by the '85 Bears which became ineffective because of the west coast offense

You remember what Butler said? He basically confirmed Romo was the one doing everything. I am sure in the QB meetings, he was helping Dak game plan.
