The only plausible reason they wouldn't let Tony compete for the starting job is because they knew he would win it, and that is pretty sad.
why ,in Gods name, would they not want the Best QB running the team?

If we lose to Tampa, you got to go to Romo at that point in my opinion.........you cant choke away a season like this because your rookie QB starts playing like a rookie.

Choke away a season? You do know we have already clinch a playoff spot right? Let Dak ride it Out. Maybe he need this lost to get more focus.

As you saw last night, homefield is kinda important since Dak apparently cant throw a cold ball more than 5 yards. Dude was even warming up on the sideline wearing his freaking jacket. How the hell can you warm up throwing a football with your artic size jacket on? Has the dude ever played in a cold weather game before?

So yea, we may have clinched a playoff berth, but a trip to Seattle or back to New York in January doesn't bode well based on last night's results.

I just can't help but think that with Romo we win going away in both Giants games

They are such a fraudulent team

Or ... Romo could be in the hospital right now on life support.

They had a chance to clinch the division and more last night so if he wasn't focused enough he doesn't need to be on the damn field.

This is a SB or bust year. If they don't make it to Houston it is a failure. I have no patience for someone who could be the next RG3 or Nick Foles choking away the season.

One more game like last night and he needs to be yanked.

Romo has had streaks of bad games. This loss isn't only Dak's fault, I think people forget he is a rookie. We will see how he bounces back. Was Zeke's first road loss as well
I am so sick of this "He is a rookie, cut him some slack" schtick.

Yes, he's a rookie, and he gets slack for that. But that is not an excuse for sticking with him if he is playing poorly and the better QB is sitting on the bench ready to go.

Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A Smith just might be correct. Jerry talking about how much he would like to see his son Tony Romo Jones step in and lead the team to the Super Bowl just might have screwed up Dak's mind as well as the entire team chemistry. If the team collapses here, this is the legacy that Jerry will be remembered for (and bringing in Tony isn't going to help - he might last half a game before getting injured again)

You guys do understand that losses and quarterback play are two completely different things.

Yea, we have won 2 of the last 3, but Dak has played very poorly in those three games with just 166 yards average and 2-24 on thirid downs. That is the problem!!!!

Yes, you can still win games if your quarterback plays like crap, just go talk to the Chicago Bears about Rex Grossman.
No QB is perfect every game. Dak has many more game winning plays then not. It's a team loss my just a Dak loss and being that the QB is the most important and 95 percent of the time decides outcomes of games. How many times have we seen Dak play poorly then come back and win the game. He started to last night until Dez fumbled the ball. Great pass there to get in position.....that fumble wasn't Dak's fault

Excellent post.

Just ignore the idiot posters who call you out for supporting Romo. The main problem is that most of them have been against Romo and when Dak started winning they proclaimed him the greatest thing since sliced bread and the he is not a loser like Romo.

I too was against putting Romo back into the lineup since Dak had the hot hand, but that hand is now ice cold and the pressure is starting to get to him. We cannot go 2-24 on third downs and expect a deep playoff run, just isn't going to happen. Problem is that too many people have agendas now and it doesn't matter if Dak throws 5 pics against Tampa, they will excuse his play or say that Romo would have thrown just as many.

In another thread, a poster just used the excuse that Romo didn't win the week 17 elimination games during the 8-8 seasons so if Dak chokes away HFA it doesn't mean anything because Romo is a choker also. See what I mean? They are already using Romo's miscues as excuses for Dak now and why they are against putting Romo back in, even if Dak continues to struggle.
Sorry, I was too drained to reply last night but you nailed it perfectly. They are the fans who are obviously agenda driven, even at the expense of our season. I just want to win. Regardless of how we get there. If it is Dak on a hot streak or Romo with fresh legs. But, at this point, I just feel we aren't going to get there with Dak.

A few games ago, I felt that he could take us there but it's apparent to anyone with objective eyes that he is struggling. I just don't feel that he can take it all the way right now. He's going through growing pains as any rookie will, but this is the worst time for it to happen. And this idea that we are hitched to him through good or bad this season and we just have to ride it all the way, doesn't make sense to me. Not when we have Romo who can step in and at least match the QB production we've had the last 2/3 games. It's getting ugly out there and it's only going to get worse, unfortunately.

Dak has been great for most of this season, but he's struggled mightily in back to back games.

If you read my posts carefully, I'm not suggesting Dak be pulled immediately. But if the offense continues to struggle under, there is a very obvious solution sitting right there on the bench.

Just saying that Dak's numbers the last 2 games are horrible, if he puts up another stinker next week against Tampa, I think the team has to seriously consider going to Romo.

We cant choke away a season like this and if Dak has been figured out (blitz him and cover all short routes and make him beat you deep and odds are he cant).

I guarantee that teams are not going to be blitzing Romo like that. Just something to consider if Dak has basically 3 suck games in a row.

My leash would be back-to-back losses where Prescott plays poorly. This amazing season seems to have made many forget how tough it is to succeed as a rookie, especially at quarterback. Games like this one are usually the norm instead of the exception.

We need to see if being a rookie has caught up with Dak, and if it has, then we need to pull the trigger. But it shouldn't happen until winning the East is on the line or securing the top seed is on the line. If we get to three losses, I feel that will be the case with the Giants chasing us at four losses and the head-to-head advantage and the Lions at 9-4 and Seattle at 8-4-1 in the chase for home-field advantage.

A healthy Romo is, and always has been the best shot at winning a SB this year. This defense is not good enough to make a legitimate SB run with a rookie QB, especially one who has regressed to looking like a rookie QB.
Romo is talented but a mental midget in big games. That's not what we need, as evidence by his career accomplishments.

Welp get ready, Tampa Bay is going to be tough. They have a Dline that is very active, LBers that can run and a secondary that is hard to pass on. Also hope we have an answer for shutting down Evans.

Yes, we'll just let the veteran choke the season away.

Over the last 3 games, Dak is averaging 166 yards per game and has converted just 2 of 24 third down attempts. So its not a one game loss folks are reacting to, its a 3 game slump that Dak is in and the question becomes why.

It's not a three-game slump. It's one bad game.

Dak was very good against Washington, and he was more than efficient enough against Minnesota. Those were "bad" games only in the fantasy football world.
