If Dak sucks next week against Tampa, thats 3 games. Might Need to go to Romo

The record blinds all else and some folks just don't want to look deeper. Dak has benefited from Zeke and the D. All he needed to do was be efficient and he's done that and played well within the scheme. But Dak is not yet capable of carrying the team and there's nothing wrong with that considering he's a 4th round pick. But his accuracy issues are a concern, at least for me.

So Romo didn't benefit from Demarco Murray and those 1800 yards. He did that all by himself. Dak didn't engineer game winning drives against the Steelers, Eagles and Commanders. Winning 11 games in a row, which is 1 less than Romo won in all of 2014 is just 'game-managing', but Tony Romo carried the team despite having essentially the same team with a running back who had MORE yards than Zeke.

Tony Romo owned in the month of December that season and if you really need someone to spell out for you how Romo is just better at playing QB in this league than a 4th round rookie there is no helping you.

He 'owned it' in December for one year, and somehow this 4th round rookie is only 1 win behind his 2014 record with 3 games to go.

Sure he did (benefit from Demarco) and I never claimed he didn't. But Romo has also carried this team with Barber, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice. Had the D not been playing well this season, then we'd be having another conversation. I've said it before, it's Dak's job to lose but I'm not going to kid myself into believing that Dak, as a rookie, is a better QB than a healthy Romo. And health is a key factor; is he (Romo) healthy and can he stay healthy.

Cut them some slack. They're struggling right now. 48 hours ago they thought he was the MVP of the league. Now half the joint wants to bench him.

If you could guarantee me Romo stays healthy I'd have benched Dak the moment Romo was cleared to play. There is no question who the better QB is and by a lot.

The point is the Romo can beat the blitz with his passing while Dak cant................now if Romo cant take a hit anymore, then we kinda need to know that so we know what to do with him in the offseason.

You can't just have one point because that's not the only consideration. As I've said before, if Romo is 28, we're not even having this conversation. But he's not. He's 36 coming off successive injuries, including a back injury.
And we already know what's going to be done in the offseason. Dak is the future; Romo is the past. But he still wants to play. I'm almost 99 percent certain Romo won't be back.

Good post, I agree with your assessment.

I give Dak the Tampa game and if he plays like crap, then he heads to the bench..................Romo then takes over for Detroit and Philly must win games.
And what if Romo comes and and throws 3 picks and we lose? Not trying to be snarky.

So how many games do we lose if Dak keeps playing like a rookie.........the last 2 weeks he looked like a 4th rounder and if that same Dak shows up next week against Tampa, I am going to the bullpen for Romo.

I am not going to let a magical season like this get pissed away because our 4th round QB is choking under the pressure.

It's only 'magical' because of Dak, a fourth round qb that surprised the whole league. Nothing else other than Zeke has been better than before

Shannon Sharpe and Stephen A Smith just might be correct. Jerry talking about how much he would like to see his son Tony Romo Jones step in and lead the team to the Super Bowl just might have screwed up Dak's mind as well as the entire team chemistry. If the team collapses here, this is the legacy that Jerry will be remembered for (and bringing in Tony isn't going to help - he might last half a game before getting injured again)

If that screwed up Dak's head, then he isn't the QB we think he is.

Romo was undrafted, and Dak has been named the starter.

Ok I give you that one...where they were drafted is irrelevant. But a healthy Tony Romo (and I know that's the main question) is better than Dak Prescott at this moment in time.

Everything has fallen into place for a SB run and it would be a shame to see it evaporate because some are worried about Dak's feelings. He will be here next year and will more than likely be handed the keys permanently so if he continues to struggle what is the harm in giving Romo a shot to push the team over the finish line?

I'm not advocating benching Dak at this moment. Only if his play begins to hinder this team's quest of a SB.

Here's my problem. Romo has been in the playoffs like 4 or 5 times with 2 victories. He's a talented thrower but a mental midget. I don't want to go through another Romo heart-break again. I'd rather live and die with new blood.

Romo is far from a mental midget. You know that.

The question is who do you think gives the team a better shot at winning a SB this year. Sunday Night's Dak Prescott or Tony Romo?

Yea we will see if Dak can rebound and get back on track this Sunday and I hope he does because if he succeeds the team succeeds but if seems to be regressing you can't keep throwing him out there.

In the playoffs, he is. We've all seen that

What playoff games are you referring to? 2007? You blame that one on Romo? 2009? 2014 where he was arguably the best QB in the league including the playoffs?

He has made some bad throws and has had some bad games but I've always felt the team had chance with him behind center no matter the opponent. Can't say the same about Dak. Not yet.

Why haven't we gone to the NFC Championship or Super Bowl? Let me guess, someone else's fault.

You can be a great football player and never win a SB. Why this is hard to understand I'll never know.

And yes this is a team sport and no player in NFL history has won a SB by himself. Show me one and you'd have a point about him not winning a championship.

In any case you have your opinion and you're sticking by it. I respect that. Let's just hope the decision doesn't have to be made and Dak goes out this Sunday and lights it up.

It's only a team sport when Romo loses. When Dak loses, it's on him.
