I don't mean to jump the gun (ahem),

Is it Coleman, Watkins, Pile, or Berault?

Coleman and Pile have the most experience, but I'd say they are more tier 2 type players at this stage.

Watkins may be the long-term answer (we hope), so maybe he gets thrown to the wolves?

I don't see too many other options, unless someone is available in FS or we wait for roster cutdowns end-August.

Thoughts?

One off the run idea may be J. Reeves? He's got the speed and size, as well as some experience playing in the Secondary.

Anyway, I hope Davis' situation gets resolved in the best way for the Cowboys.

Berry'O is a SS type, so I doubt that he would the guy.

I'd put my money on Coleman starting and then hoping Watkins is what some folks on here think he can be...then takes over mid-season.

Frankly, even if Davis is here...I'm not comfortable at FS...

Exactly what i was thinking........J. Reeves could possibly be our best option other than K.D. at Safety

Any opinion on Reeves?

I thought I read he was going to practice some at Safety in Camp? I could be mistaken though.

Quick question, what happened to Davis? Sorry, I was too busy battling Commanders tooth and nail on ES.

There's a massive thread on the Board discussing it right now. Seems as though some "new" information on Davis is coming out pretty soon. It appears that this information doesn't necessarily shed a good light on Davis' initial story . . . . or that's the rumor, I think.

Berry-O is a backup at best; don't know why he generates so much fan interest-- maybe it's because so many want the Cowboys to have found that "diamond in the rough".

Watkins is our longterm starter, IMO. I think he slid in the draft for all the wrong reasons while Beriault slid because of legit concerns about his speed, coverage ability, and small school status.

We're lucky every game, every play we can squeeze out of Coleman. Keith Davis can't get healthy fast enough.

Ok, thanks for the info, I'll check it out.

BTW, how is London right now? Perfect weather? That place is really nice. I remembered wanting to go to that place near London Bridge. It was supposed to be about all the criminals from London, and make a movie of it, or something. Maybe some type of museum. Parents didn't let me though.

It's a great city, but too expensive. And we're in the midst of a heat wave.
To get a shirt laundered costs about $4, the bus one way is about $3, and a decent restaurant is about $60 per head.

But it's got great history, etc., and it's very centrally located between the US, continental Europe, and Asia, so it makes for good travel.

Someone is buying the hype of that self-promoting board (Ranch Report)?

Yeah, in Texas, it's $40 for the four of us here.

I'm from India, so you haven't experienced a heat wave until you've been to India. It's really, really humid there too. *shudder*

Ha ha, I'm originally from India as welln, though I lived most my life in the US. Born in Delhi.

London was hotter than Bombay several days this week.

Whoa, cool, another Indianite! London must've been HOT lol. I remembered being in a 5 person car with 6 people on a loooooong, sweaty, gross drive from Delhi to Agra to see the Taj Mahal. It was so hot that the reflecting pools were all dried up!

I was born in Arlington, TX, but my parents are from Kakinada (near Hyderabad, in Andhra Pradesh)

I'll put in a vote for Beriault at free safety. Just because he can play strong safety well doesn't signify he isn't the best free safety candidate as well. The Cowboys have a history of using strong and free safeties interchangeably. His performance at camp last year was impressive.

I would like to see what Beriault has to offer. Sure does seem to have the intelligence but does he got game.

IMO, Beriault will win the starting FS spot and will play in the base defense...and then I believe, like last year, Pile will be the nickle FS.

Keith Davis will be cut by the middle of camp, once Parcells is confident that Beriault's knee will be okay.

Watkins is the wild card, we'll just have to wait and see how he holds up...sooooo skinny!

I really like Pat Watkins, especially his heigth, he could be the interception guy and roy could be the guy who just kills everybody, and Pat has 1 inch more on his vertical than reggie bush does.
