Just something to think about as we look forward to next year. Seeing all the talk of the G-Men at the SB still has me getting that sick feeling. Given the success of the Packers this year, fairly young age, does Farve retiring make them fall back to the pack (no pun intended). The decesion due shortly in my opinion is huge to the success of the Packers. While Aaron Rodgers played well in that 1/2 against us. I see the team falling way off without Brett. Personally, I dont see him leaving, to me he wants the glory that he has gotten back.

A sure thing? No. They just finally get to figure out if the drafting of Aaron Rogers was a bust! :laugh2:

I think Favre is the problem..

He was against the Cowboys and he was against the Giants in the playoffs.

Farve = Feast or Famine

Nah, with his team performing at a high level, Superbowl asperations, and with the team performing at that high level gives him a chance to really jack up his record numbers. There is no way he retires unless the issue is beyond his control. Like his drinking problems or his wife threatening to leave him.

That was more Dallas letting up than Rodgers actually doing anything great. When he needed to make a play late, Dallas shut him down. I think the Pack will have to find another QB once Favre retires and it may not be this year. I also am not sold on their running back Grant. Let's see how he does over a full season as the starter.

Rodgers should have no problem taking over.
He has worked the system the Packers employ since he has been there.
He may be a Romo type guy - great player when he get's a chance.

Bingo - and to suggest Favre is the "problem" is laughable. Put Rogers in their and you think they have the year they did? Don't kid yourself.

Favre isn't the future, quite obviously, but he certainly wasn't the "problem"
for the Packers this season.

Short answer: No

Long answer: His retiring allows that team to progress. He has held them back more than once in his almighty career.

I don't think he'll retire, they're in too good a position right now, but if he did I don't think it would doom them. I think Aaron Rogers might be able to turn a few heads and do alright.

no Farve is holding this team back so much its not even funny. Aaron Rodgers is the future and will be a good for them for many years.

I really don't think Favre is holding them back. Rogers will be a good QB but he won't be as good as Favre has been.

Seeing the year he just had I really don't see how anyone could honestly feel that Favre held them back, at all.
