1st off I hope it does not come to this and Jason stays with us but if it does happen who would you like to see get the job? Myself I think Ray Sherman would be able to step in and do the job and given the relationship he has with Owens as well as the other WR's on this team and given the fact he has a lot of NFL experience I think he could be the man

And we are very fortunate to have him because I dont think we would regress with him back as the OC.

We have a really good offensive coaching staff.

I don't think Garrett is going anywhere. Jones had a quote tyhe other day something to the effect that " I didn't go through all this trouble to get him just to let him go"

I have to believe that Garrett will just bide his time for Wade's 3 yr contract to run out with a nice increase from Jerry.

I have no problem with Sherman being promoted to OC. He is a Wade Phillips guy and he has been an OC before.

I am sure Sparano will get at look as well.

I'd be pretty heated if Sherman got the nod over Sparano.

Sparano is the Asst. Head Coach as well. I doubt he wouldn't get his old job back.

I agree and I like Sparano but I guess I just look at the fact that if Dallas was thrilled with Sparano as the OC Jerry would not have gone out and got Garrett. I know every time TO is being interviewed he always talks highly about Sherman

I don't think it was Jerry's lack of enthusiasm for Sparano that made him go out and get Jason Garrett.

I think Jerry Jones saw a hot coaching prospect and as a GM, he knows you can never have enough good coaches.

To be honest, I kind of felt Garrett was being groomed for the job and was kind of surprised he wasn't given the HC job, given the selection pool at the time.

This may be heresy, but I don't think Jerry Jones envisioned this type of success when he hired Wade Phillips and probably thought it would be easy to let Wade Phillips coach out his contract and it would be a no-brainer to promote Garrett after that.

Given Wade Phillips' success, now Mr. Jones is faced with quite the predicament. If Wade goes on to coach and maybe win the Super Bowl and has a strong season next year, Jerry Jones has a good by very had problem on his hand. Do you promote the young, talented but unproven Assistant or does he go with the old, steady Wiley Veteran?

Right now, I am more than happy with Wade Phillips and I am not say you are doing this, but alot of fans seems to want to push Phillips out the door when his 2 Year Contract is up.

The Boys are 11-1 and have a bright future, and no freakin way do I want to take a chance, try to fix something that isn't broken and promote Garrett when Wade is doing just fine.

Jason Garrett isnt leaving...I dont know why so many are so obsessed with this right now...he knows he's going to be the HC here soon, no reason to take lesser positions without as much chance to win just to take a job, which many of you believe

Remember Sparano had a top 5 offense as our coordinator last year with Parcells holding him back. Sparano should get the job.

I hope your right but I'm not foolish to think that teams will not go after him. He has a good relationship with the management of the NY Giants and with that relationship already established yes I think it is a real possibility. I'm just asking if it did happen who would be the man to step into the spot.

I think this offense keeps plowing along no matter who is calling the plays. I really wouldn't have a problem with either candidate because both have proven they can do the job.

you have to remember the timing issues in addition to the opportunity as well

assistants from teams that are the 1-2 seeds can only interview the week of their bye week, otherwise they have to wait until their teams season is complete...the Giants (assuming they make the playoffs, which is likely) will be playing during our bye week (therefore, they wont have an opening then)...its unlikely our season is going to be over before the end of January or into February, most teams dont want to wait that long to make decisions

he isnt leaving

Normally teams do not go out and hire a QB coach and promote him to OC if they were thrilled with their current OC. I agree with you why Jerry went after Garrett and hope this all comes together somewhere down the line.

As I stated in another thread for those saying Garrett should stay as he is guranteed the HC position with the Cowboys:

This is the NFL and there are only 32 Head Coaching jobs making the post more exclusive than the U.S. Senate.

Garrett is ann Ivy Graduate, so that should tell you that he is smart enough to know that you strike when the iron is hot as nothing is ever guranteed, including any promises Jerry Jones may make to him.

Jason Garrett would be extremely foolish to not take the Giants Head Coaching job if it is offered too him. He has a pretty good quarterback, a franchise that has some tradition of winning and it is a team he should be very familiar with.

I think one of the many reasons Garrett's offense is doing so well is because of Sparano's input/help. Sparano would be the man if Garrett leaves....no doubt.

The NFL allows a window of opportunity for coaches to talk with other team even during the playoffs. As the local reporter said it is also common that these coaches’ agents will sit down a talk with teams during this time. I don't want Jason to leave but I think I'm being a realist in saying yes it could happen. Just to say no it can’t happen and he is staying is a bit naïve
