Why was AL Johnson benched in the 2nd half? You claimed he was functional.....meaning he could have played despite the injury and surgery.

Parcells is never going to let a player use injury as an excuse, even when it is a legitimate excuse. He knows the reality, he just doesn't want his players in a habit of making excuses or feeling sorry for themselves.

Parcells “Gurode just gives us a bigger body in there, oh and he sucks.”

I think it was because he's not been playing well and Parcell's was sending him a message. You have to admit, Al's performance has been less than stellar all season long.

It's too bad that Gurode blew his chance, but the fact that BP stuck with him knowing Al was available speaks volumes to me. It will be interesting to see if Al starts this week.

I think you are right. Parcells wants someone to step up. It's not working so far.

Very interesting indeed!!!! The Chiefs are that huge in the middle.

Normally logic would lead you to believe that Gurode would start this week. But after his performance last week I don't know.

Al doesn't seem to make the mistakes, but he's getting pushed around and probably not 100% recovered. Gurode is huge and should be better suited against the bigger DT - but can't seem to get it together and seize the opportunity.

BP has a tough decision this week.

Johnson was getting pushed around more than usual in the Giant game.

My bet is that BP wasn't so mad about his performance as he was about Al repeatedly telling him he was at full strength following surgery. He clearly wasn't and it put us in a bad spot.

I'm guessing the Gurode starts against the chiefs and then we'll see Al come in after the first fumble :)

What time does it start? I still can't get Dallas Cowboys.com to fully load.

Or you could ask...

"Hey Coach, why don't you trust Gurode to snap the shotgun?"

or

"How could Gurode miss that line call so badly?"

or even

"Coach, how in the world could you have promoted Sean Ryan to the active roster over Tony Curtis?"

:D

Johnson is good for at least 1 holding call per 1.5 games isn't he.

Those are just huge!

I'd cut to the cahse and ask: "How would you evaluate the job of your first-year Offensive Line Coach in light of the lack of executuion displayed by yuor young Offensive Linemen over recent weeks? Because their execution does not meet up to the standard of their talent-level, does that indicate an inability on the curent Offensive Line Coach's part to develop this young group of linemen?"

I'd congratulate the reporter that had the BALLS to ask this very important question!

I like that one very much. I think BP gets irritated with their stupid questions anyway. He definately does not like being second guessed but the question above is a fair question and one I think he would answer.

Exactly what kind of reply do you think BP should give to a question phrased like that? I hate this idea so extant these days that adversarial questioning is the only way to challenge a coach on what is happening. How about the following...

Coach, you stated earlier this week, we didn't block very well. What kind of steps are the you and the coaching staff taking with the players to try and improve things this week? Are there things with the offensive game plan for example that can improve the likelihood that things will go better?

You know what would also have been huge? If Gurode was smart enough to hold on that game changing play to start the 3rd quarter against the Giants. Sometimes holding is the right play.

Also, if Rivera leads our linemen with 6 penalties, then I find it hard to believe that Johnson could be averaging 1 to 1.5 holding calls each game.

That is not an adversarial question. Either your coaching the players and they are not following instructions and putting in the film time neccessary or your coaching is not where it needs to be, or a combo of both.

You guys want to "dress up" your questions with big fancy words.... Just cut to the core and say...

Bill, YOUR offensive line has sucked the last two weeks. How are you going to fix it?
