If Lee is out for the season

This has to be one of the worst posts I've ever seen on this board. You "hope we go 3-13?". Seriously dude?

I hope the young guys that we already have on the roster develop to their potential and become difference makers. But I'll leave you to your fantasy of 3 wins so we can draft whoever your pet cat is next year. Enjoy the 2014 season friend.

Enjoy hoping we can compete with Seattle/San Fran/NO/Chicago/GB.

Oh great. So if that IS the case, seems like career ending at this point, right? The entire knee? whoa.

I had the team going 6-10, but I think there was potential to go 11-5 if a lot of things went right. Now, we have no chance.

We need to cut the chord with so many people in this organization. Love Lee, but he doesn't belong on a football field if he can't stay healthy.

Talk to me when it is the last preseason game. Then I might have some sort of expectation. Until then I view it as an uniformed waste of time.

And being on this blog is productive for you?

Sure because it helps me get information and discuss the team. That is besides the point that guessing season outcomes in May is colossal uninformed waste of time.

Setting expectations at this point is an emotional exercise and nothing more.

I think it should change a game or two.

I love what Sean Lee can do healthy, but we all knew (or should have known) he would not play all 16 games this season.

What it means to me is that unless there is an incumbent on this roster that is better than what we think, the season will start even rougher than we thought and we lose a game or two more.

I guess it depends on perspective.

If you thought playoffs, then I would think this would temper that to missing it.

If you expected 8-8 mediocrity, then it just ratchets that down a notch to 6-10ville.

If you thought it was the pits regardless, it should not matter

I've been of the opinion 8 - 8, if not worse, because you are what you were last season until you prove otherwise.

As if Lee was the difference in that...

When Lee went out against New Orleans that is when they stopped bothering to run to keep Lee honest and passed 3 out of 4 downs until they had a 3 score lead.

I think with improved D line play and another year under the belt for veterans, we'll be okay. We'll struggle in June middle of the field unless someone steps up, but we won't be awful.

Me thinks awful in the immediate future, with the chance to develop players over time into something respectable. My expectations have been pretty low for this season, but I do like the direction of the team and think they could be respectable again in a few years.

I don't know about predictions on record, but I've been saying this defense may get worse before it gets better... Now I'm afraid it may be looking that way

If Lee was going to be injured now is the best time for the injury to happen.
We can't move on from Lee but we can't depend on him either.
