If he makes it to 16 at least Drake will be playing the Thanksgiving half-time show.

One concept that people overlook is that if a highly rated player "falls" that probably indicates that other teams found problems with that player.

If Clowney dropped to #16, then there's probably some serious issues with him that fans and media don't fully understand.

If Manziel falls to #16, then at least 3 QB needy teams passed on him.

The usual response is Aaron Rodgers. I agree generally though.

It's hard to say what would have happened if Rodgers would have had to start immediately. He had the luxury that very few 1st round QBs get which is to get time to learn the Pro game and develop without being thrown in the fire. It might have been a different story is Rodgers had to start immediately and get sacked 76 times in one season like David Carr.

So, Rodgers had the same luxury a qb drafted by the Cowboys would have.

Regarding the OP, Manziel should step up in that perfect pocket. He bails out like Stephen McGee, as he's doing in that picture.

He passed for a ton of yards. I suspect he stepped up in the pocket from time to time.

That's exactly what was going through my mind last year when Floyd fell. I was thinking don't take this guy.

No, he only threw on the scramble, and he only lobbed up prayers to Mike Evans with his eyes closed. That's all he ever did. Not a single other receiver ever caught a pass from Manziel.

Good post. That's a perfect scouting assessment of Manziel.

Not saying Manziel is Aaron Rodgers but Aaron Rodgers took a tumble.

We know where we found Tony Romo and we know where the Pats found Tom Brady.

Warner was a high pick you took a dive once he got to the pros but then re-incarnated his NFL career.

The bottom line is there's big money on these guys and the executive who has to put their career on the line to make the decision on that guy is what makes a lot of talented players drop.

Que Russell Wilson before you que Tim Tebow when it comes to. Johnny Football.
