In the end... if TO is wrong about everthing else... he will have been right about one thing.... we dont jump on teams, we start slow... these cellardwelling teams are hanging with us for TOO MUCH of the game. Gotta get TO more involved, gotta get the offense in high geat with ALL WR's. Defense has gotta get nasty.

He see's this. We do too I am sure.... but we are just wishn anda hopin' that we win games... if this doesnt change we wont like the end result

TO is involved and he did not start off very well yesterday in the 1st half with a couple of drops. Dallas scored 3 out of the 1st 4 times they had the ball. Get TO more involved he already is, we do have other guys on this team with very good talent and they need to get involved just as much. Crayton lead ALL WR yesterday with 5 catches for 104 yards and a TD. Romo does not need to force balls to TO he needs to keep getting the ball to the open man. TO is not the entire team not by a long shot

TO needs to get TO involved early. All the QB can do is throw him the ball,, he has to catch it. Over the last 3 weeks, TO has NO ONE to blame but TO for his lack of involement early in games.

Mick, do you understand that there has NEVER been ONE game this year, not even with Bledsoe under center, that Owens has not had MORE passes thrown his way than any other receiver?

And not by one or two throws, either. Would you care to see the numbers one more time:D ?

Even if you buy that he needs to be constantly fed the ball to see the best results, that he is a 'rhythem' receiver (they all need to be involved early or can lose concentration), and that his talent (and mouth) demand he receive preference, it is foolhardy to make the offense ALL about Owens.

Luckily, there is now a QB who does what he claims he does...goes thru his reads and throws to the first player he sees open, and doesn't wait around for a receiver to get open because he's enamoured of the long yardage play.

I think the biggest problem with the slow starts is not running the ball on the first drives. It seems they start out throwing on all three downs and go 3 and out.

The first six plays of the Cowboys were all pass.

I dont think you are getting the gist of my thread :) I think Owens feels that we should be more explosive and explosive early... Are we really utilizing him the right way.... he didnt just stop being an explosive WR that RAC/YAC... I feel the offensive play calling is somewhat offensive... he sees that too

We came out throwing yesterday, so much so that folks were wondering where's the run?

We are opening up the run with the short-intermediate pass.

Could anything be more conducive to Owens' skillset?

Maybe it's me, but I see a BIG commitment to getting TO the ball and a noticable adjustment in game-planning and overall offensive strategy to suit his talents, from TR's checkdowns to a more horizontal game than we played in the past.

Since Romo took over this offense is getting better and better.

I figure these first few games other teams defenses have geared up to stop our run in a big way and invited the young, inexperienced, FA QB to beat them.

That will stop soon and our offense will become even more balanced.

Those teams probably still can't believe what they are seeing from Romo.

I am hoping that with this offensive surge that is taking place that Parcells will stop this foolishness of just keeping things close and hope to win at the end.

I hope he realizes that our offense is putting a tremendous amount of pressure on other teams defenses.

Let's start attacking, ... on offense and defense.

Release the hounds on defense and quit being so conservative.

ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK !!

Someone tie Zimmer up in the men's room and lets get it on !!

It's the only way to beat Manning, ... we can't let him stand back there and just pick us apart.

Are you listening Bill ?

- Mike G.

Sometimes I think folks won't be happy re Owens til we either go 100 percent Walshian wco, pre-hybrid days, OR give Owens the role he had with Mcnabb in Philly in 04.

No, not you Mick, as you clearly said involve all weapons...and we've got a LOT more than Philly had.

But as I see it, the CS is doing a pretty good job coming out with 'points' in mind.

And staying score minded as well. The only thing we haven't been doing is going deep often..is that the issue?

Because I think I could back you up on that. ;)

We deliberately didn't run the score up yesterday for the reason Bill gave - 'you just don't do that'.

But we could have and would have had we had to.

I'm happy with the offense..what the 'committee' is doing post-Bledsoe with Witten/Fasano (tho I'd like to see JJ more as a receiver out of the backfield) the pass-run ratio, all the time giving Tony his perogatives and not stifling him.

What I feared was Bill micro-managing Romo. Scaling back.

He is not, tho that has been due more to Romo's skills than Bill's 'tendencies', I believe.

Yeah, I posted in another thread about our offense's qualitative stats.

This offense is impressive and now that the "Moxican" has taken over the ship, the offense just looks down right good.

Did you guys see all the receivers this guy was hitting yesterday. Witten, Hurd, Crayton and The Player were lighting it up and he has done this against strong competition as well.

Like someone's old signature use to say about Defense.

"Im afraid our offense will be quite operational"

That would be cool to replace the emperor's head with Tony Romo's :D .

Hard for Owens to get involved early or talk about starting slowly when he's the guy dropping passes..........

He needs to do less talking and more catching. Take accountability for your mistakes.

He's make great plays, but he's also failed to make some as well.

Take responsibility for all of it, not just the part you like.

Keep working hard at it and good things will happen.

Dallas did score 3 times in their 1st 4 drives to start the game. Romo just needs to keep doing what he is doing and that is get the ball to the open man. There is no reason to force passes to TO if you have another target who is open.

Not just you Dooms, but why are we talking about forcing anything to Owens ?

Romo never has done that, ... he has hit 5 for 6 different receivers every game.

That is what will make him so hard to prepare for.

I agree. I just disagree with YoMick in trying to get Owens even more involved. Romo needs to get his weapons involved in the game that includes TO but it also includes others as well. I like what Romo is doing right now

I love Romo, he makes every receiver better.

Plus, because he includes every receiver, they all run their best route every play.

When a QB favors one receiver, the others tend to not run their best route on every play because they know it probably isn't coming to them.

Romo even makes Owens a better receiver too.

I can't wait to watch him grow.
