If only Hardy would have appealed

It's possible.

Maybe.

Of course he would have likely been gassed as well due to being on the field so much in the second half.

its better that its all behind us now. the team could still EASILY be 3-1 with all the injuries and suspensions. New Orleans was probably the easiest game the team could ask for at that particular time and the team just laid an egg.

hardy made the right move to sit the 4 games early.

And the Patriots coming off a bye would be the worst possible game this team could ask for at this particular time..

But the fact is we're not 3-1 and now playing best team in league. We needed those 2 winnable games. And just like Brady, a court appeal by NFL (if Hardy won) would have been pushed to Feb. he'd have played in every game. He made the wrong decision and I still have no idea why.

I'm sure there's good reason. We don't know all the details.

This team could EASILY be 1-3 if not for Coughlins lack of clock management. We are what we are. 2-2.

I agree with that too. The gift from NY is why i wasn't too upset about the loss to NO. Those things usually balance out over a season. But my point was simply that 3-1 was easily well within reach of this current team full of suspensions and injuries.

My gut says he negotiated a settlement for four games in exchange for no appeal. I think that's why he got it from 10 to 4, as opposed to 6 or 8.

There was no reason for him not to challenge it. No reason at all. Just another thing I can't figure out.

Just like why is OL Collins inactive? :)

This is pretty silly.

I think it's more fair to say that if Romo didn't go and get his collarbone snapped (again), we'd be 4-0.

I think there was backroom deal done, there is no other explanation for him not appealing.

I'll reserve judgement until we see what kind of an impact he actually has on the game. Hardy only played in 1 game in 2014, which means his last real season was 2013, that's two years removed. I have no doubt that we're better with him than without him, but until he proves it, I can't be sure that he's still the player we're counting on him being. I'm very excited to finally see him play for us, but I'm keeping my expectations pretty low for now.

I find it hard to believe that one man could make that much of a difference when the rest of the defense and scheme don't appear to be in sync. He is no Charles Haley in my opinion.

possibly. and you never know what can happen in a court if Hardy had taken it that far. And how long it might have taken. At the time it looked like the right thing to do overall. He would be back for the Pats and that was what was really important to the team, I am willing to bet. They did not want to risk more - who knew Romo would get injured? You throw the dice and sometimes they come up snake eyes.
