If Orton takes us deep into the Playoffs is there a qb controversy in 14?

they made tony sit in the pocket all year holding the ball and took away his real strength which is rolling out and throwing on the run.
he seems to see things better that way.

the game winning drive last sunday was a perfect example of the romo we grew to love over the years.

rolling out and making plays.

i don't understand the hate on orton when he has not even taken the field yet..

maybe ..just maybe he will kick some *** sunday night.

who knows?

back this team if you are a true fan....if not...it's real simple...go root for another.

There were no rollouts on that drive. You are confusing escaping the pocket with rolling out. Completely different things. Tony has never had much success when rolling out (though to be fair the designed rollouts usually look poorly designed -what's new?).

Meh I find it very unlikely orton will play that well . But hey you never know. Backup qbs in General have had great success this year

Actually, I do think you meant escaping the pocket, but that is not something you call for, it is a natural development of the play as it unfolds, and can happen at any time.

My opinion is that if Dallas loses this game, it will NOT be because of Kyle Orton.

At the very least, It puts ALOT of pressure on T. Romo next year.......and if he isn't playing well, or we are losing, it will loom over him, the coach, the fans and even the owner..... Kyle Big Game took us to the NFCCG, ...super Bowl?

I think Cowboys Nation respects , craves, desperately desires nothing but results anymore... As much as we love Romo, we like playoff wins better.....

So you are going to have a backup QB with $108 million dollar contract with over half of that guaranteed?

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA............................that aint how the cap works bro.............when you give a player $52 million guaranteed, he is playing no matter what the hell happens..............dude aint riding any bench with that type of contract.

It's not something anyone is going to have to worry about because Orton isn't taking this team near a Superbowl, unless he's buying all his team mates tickets to watch the game live.

Pulease. Orton can win the Super Bowl MVP, and he's back on the bench when Romo returns.

Orton's best days are behind him. And if anyone is going to take Romo's position, it's going to be a new quarterback (Johnny Manziel?), and it won't be next year unless Romo is injured.

There won't be any controversy. As much as they paid Romo, he's the starter.

I agree.

I think for Orton to be successful the defense would have to play much better and the play calling would have to be much better. I think Orton would end up being more run oriented with play-action in order to be successful. Less shotgun nonsense on 1st and 2nd down. For me, it would bring up the controversy as to why we can’t play call the game like this when Romo is the QB.

Would you want to see what Orton could do for a full season if he takes this team to the Super Bowl? I have a strange feeling that Kyle Orton is about to do something special in the next month.

I'd like to think it is even a possibility for this team to make a deep run. But the defense will not allow it. Doesn't matter if Orton, Romo or Joe Montana is playing QB...

No one said that Orton was the answer, and Romo's not the answer. The answer is in College or high school somewhere.

College man.. college. I can't wait for a high schooler to get here.

Nope, Romo is our guy for the next couple of seasons, no matter what.

LOL! ... Sorry, but when I read this I had to laugh out loud, .. because we have a full blown QB controversy in Dallas when it is only Romo!

We don't need two QB's to have a QB controversy with Cowboy fans.
