If Orton takes us deep into the Playoffs is there a qb controversy in 14?

I'm not saying anything. I actually agree, but if you don't want to read something, don't click on it.

actually I think you just need to read and not comment anymore..since "you're not saying anything"

I think Orton is very capable QB as long as the Cowboys can keep him in a comfort zone. Meaning Dallas must be able to run and keep him in good down and distance situation. Orton is not going to extend plays as Romo does, he just does not have the same escapability of Tony. If the Eagle jump on top of Dallas it is going to be hard to protect Orton. I think Dallas has a chance but it really comes down to players around Orton keeping him in that comfort zone

If Orton takes us "deep" in the playoffs with this defense, then there had better be a quarterback controversy because Orton is now the best quarterback in the league.

If the Cowboys make the playoffs and go a game or two in, Orton won't be here next year. Another team will throw a ton of cash at him to be a starter.

Lol...if he takes us to the Super Bowl with this defense and him leafing the offense - they should walk him directly to Canton.

I'm k

I agree. If Orton could pull this off it will be a miracle.

Would you want to see what Orton could do for a full season if he takes this team to the Super Bowl? I have a strange feeling that Kyle Orton is about to do something special in the next month.

Strange feeling indeed. Orton didn't outshine Romo in training camp, and wouldn't next year either.

Ask Josh Ellis ... he's on twitter going off on Tony and praising the very existence of Orton.

No. Jerry is going to leave Romo out there until he needs horses to drag him off.

I'm just hoping that GIF of Orton walking across the field and pumping the Jack Daniels over his head came after a win. :)

A DEEP playoff run would be wild.
I can see Dallas being able to win a home playoff game, but anything beyond that would be a huge upset.

My guess is that Dallas wins this week and anything beyond that, it is inspite of Orton and not because of him.
He needs to be (and can be) slightly better than a bus driver and get out of the way of his playmakers.
And by some miracle, the defense has to go from and "F" to at least a "C".

The main difference in the offense will be the throws will 10-20yds down field which will lead to more points and maybe a win or 2. If Orton leads the offense to a couple wins the players will start a controversy and it won't matter what the Romoites on this site think. Thank god;)

It would probably cause Dallas to re-evaluate their approach on offense assuming they will be running a more simplified (less option routes) and balanced offense with Orton. But that's all imo.

Orton doesn't want to start, if he did he wouldn't be in Dallas.

So you are going to have a backup QB with $108 million dollar contract with over half of that guaranteed?

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA............................that aint how the cap works bro.............when you give a player $52 million guaranteed, he is playing no matter what the hell happens..............dude aint riding any bench with that type of contract.

Romo woukd have to leave. To hell with salary cap. No way, If Orton takes us to NFCCG or Super Bowl, then, the teams next year struggles, That Orton doesn't play,,,,,no way in hell.......

There should absolutely be a QB controversy. Romo has won playoff win in EIGHT YEARS. If Orton can come in and win a playoff game in his first attempt, and take us further than Romo ever could, than Orton should be the starter next year. I want to win, and we haven't won a damn thing with Romo and he is only going to get worse. 34 years old with a bad back. Romos time as a starting QB is coming to an end. Very fast.

Orton would have to basically be a miracle worker over the next month for there to be a QB controversy.

We'd have a better chance of there being a QB controversy if we had some young gun taking over right now who ended up playing well. The reason I say that is because we know what Orton is. The coaches know what Orton is. There is no mystery, or X factor that might exist within his game. He's had more than enough opportunities to prove himself in this league.

Even if he does do something incredible over the next several weeks he'd still have to take the job from Tony in the offseason, in training camp, preseason, etc. I just don't see it happening.
