If Patriots lose is it "poetic justice" or "biggest choke"?

If the Pats lose to the New York Giants.
Will things have come full circle for SpyGate?

Cheat against a New York Team... first game of year...

THEN

Lose the last most important game to a New York team?

Justice or Choke?

It would be poetic justice. No way can it be considered a choke cause the Pats have already won 3 SB this decade. Choke is what the Cowboys did against the Giants in the playoff game.

Justice.

But the cheating against "one New York Team" is really minimizing what the Pats did. It was far from a one time occurrence.

It'll be a funeral. Because if the Patriots do lose, Tom Brady would have most likely died before the game.

The Giants played well against the Pats in their last game....but a poor offensive 4th quarter killed them.

The Giants have won 3 consecutive playoff road games, beating 3 division winners, two of which were 13-3.

If both teams play a solid game, with minimal mistakes and the Giants win, I would call it an upset, not a choke job......However, if the Pats commit a bunch of turnovers, commit a bunch of penalties, and the Giants take advantage of these mistakes and win, even a close game.....I call it a major choke job.

I would consider neither.

Folks are always quick to jump into the cabinet full of overly used "cliché" labels, grab some, and slap them on someone.

The Giants played the Patriots very well in the Regular Season. Yes, the Playoffs should be considered an entirely different season but one cannot discount data as recently as a month ago, which is when these two teams last met and the difference was a field goal.

Furthermore, If the Giants are indeed able to go on and win the Super Bowl, that means the New England Patriots, who have an undefeated record, would have lost to a team with an almost equally impressive record, 10 straight road victories. Which is a streak the New York Giants started back in September of the previous year.

Color me credulous, but I would not be shocked if the New York Giants are hoisting the Lombardi Trophy next Sunday Evening.

Neither wasnt an option :laugh2: (but I expected this go against the grain type of response) - I love it!

Winning 10 consecutive road games is a great feat... but they did it less impressively. Perception is... the Pats are great and the Giants are hot.

If the mighty Patriots with the much better players and better all organization lose to the Giants. It WILL be considered a "choke" with a side order of poetic justice.

As with most topics in life, perception hardly ever equates to Reality :).

Why was their 10-Game Road Streak less impressive and thus subject to criticism? Like the Patriots, the Giants have shown that they can win outside their home territory. Furthermore, unlike the Patriots, the Giants have shown a penchant for being able to win on the road in the Playoffs while enduring less than favorable weather conditions.

To add, it should be painfully obvious that fielding a better and more healthier team doesn't always equate to victory. The New York Giants stepped into Texas Stadium and Lambeau Field, faced off against a more talented and healthier #1 and #2 Seed respectively, and was able to carve out a win for themselves.

Furthermore, my thoughts on the topic of discussion should not be characterized as "going against the grain". It should be viewed as an opinion and one that obviously differs from yours.

To conclude, based on my aforementioned thoughts, I would not label a New York Giants' victory over the New England Patriots a choke job or karma. Instead, I would tend to use a smaller and less glamorous word, "upset".
