If Peyton Manning had a star on his helmet would there be a rule created for his LOS act he has going on?

Like the other following Cowboys "inspired" rules
  1. Emmitt "no removing helmet" Smith RULE
  2. Michael "I push off" Irvin RULE
  3. Roy "Horsecollar" Williams RULE
did I miss any?

You missed the Deion Rule. No, there would not be a Peyton rule if he was a Cowboy.

NO doubt if Manning was a Cowboy the NFL would make it a 5 yard penalty every time he went through one of his 15 minute acts before he snapped the ball.

But unless he becomes a Cowboy or the Cowboys should get a QB like that in the future it will only be then that this becomes a rule.

Why would there? He is calling audibles, there is no rule against it, nor should there be. If you made him stop, audibles would have to be made illegal, and that would destroy offensive football as we know it.

Yeah the NFL started cracking down on TD celebrations when Butch Johnson would score and fire off his six shooters. I always loved that celebration and it is so tame in comparison to cell phones and sharpies but the NFL really got worked up over Butch doing his thing.

I don't think so - the NFl has a hard on for him. They will let him away with everything. To them he is the game.

-Edit- not that I think what he does is wrong

Wow it is amazing how other great QBs can call audibles without a 15 minute act while doing it. There is this one great QB known as Tom Brady who has won 3 outta the last 4 Super Bowls. Interesting how when he calls audibles he can do it without the big overblown drama.

Peyton Manning is making a case for the greatest offensive QB ever. Is it because of his athletic ability, or his unmatched smarts at reading defenses?

I'll let you figure it out.

He could end up being the best stat QB ever. But I will give up great stats for a QB who can win the big games and get me 3 Super Bowls in 4 years each and every time.

I will let you figure it out.

So if Peyton wins 3 superbowls in 3 years, what willyour argument be then?

You can put down peyton for what he does, but the bottom line is what he does wins him games. LAst i checked they are undefeated.

But has he won any Superbowls - he looks like he is going to win it this year but until he does he has Dan Marino syndrome.

Hmmmm..the word IF...

Well you do not need to use the word IF when talking about 3 Super Bowls won by Tom Brady.

You do need to use the word IF when talking about IF Manning will even win a Super Bowl.

Brady is not a IF...Manning is.

Both are great QBs no doubt. I would give anything to have Manning or Brady here instead of Bledsoe.

Aren't you the #1 advocate of IF we get TO we win Super Bowls?

Be consistent.

You can call audibles WITHOUT flailing like the duck from AFLAK.

Because of past rules that seem to be created for the Dallas Cowboys. It would be a possibilty. Relax, this is a Dallas Cowboys FANS forum, no?
