If Philly is knocked out of playoffs by gametime...

....do they still give Dallas their best shot?

I tend to think so, but if such is the case, might be a little advantage for Dallas if Philly has nothing to play for...

Any thoughts?

No doubt about it. It may even make the Eagles more dangerous because they will pull out all of the stops to win with nothing to play for. At the same time it could be beneficial for Dallas. I think the Cowboys could break them easier if they're eliminated. I don't know how well anyone else remembers that night game against the Rams we had in 2005 after we were eliminated. The Cowboys came out like gangbusters, but as soon as the Rams started playing football too, the Cowboys packed it in. I think we could see something like that if the Cowboys took control early if the Eagles were eliminated.

Hell yes, they hate us and as long as it's a close game, the crowd will keep them motivated.

Now if a miracle we're to happen and we actually started a game fast with the O clicking on all cylynders and the D shutting them down, I could see the Eagles will breaking pretty fast.

This would be a great game for them to start fast and score early and often ( 21-0 before halftime sounds about right)

No. Their best shot would be if every single player that was playing was trying their hardest.

The only way every single player would try their hardest is if they were in contention for the playoffs.

Does this mean I'm saying that the entire Eagles team is going to come out and lay an egg? Not at all. What I'm saying is that there are going to be those who try hard and those who do not care (since they have no reason to), and that automatically means they're not giving us their best shot.

It's just inevitable.

If we get up on them quickly (10 points or so), they might mail it in. Otherwise, I expect a dogfight.

Eliminated or not, this game is Philly's super bowl. They hate Dallas more than the Commanders, or at least so I've noticed. Never count out Philly, at least when they are playing Dallas.

I think the fans hate us much more than the actual team does. To the players, who pal around together and do events in the off-season, it's rarely personal.

Philly would like nothing more then to eliminate Dallas Chances of a Playoff birth. We are in for a hell of a game.

I agree with that. I think there's a 90% chance we get their very best effort because they hate us and the crowd will definitely help them. But if they are already knocked out and we get an early lead, those morons in the stands might just start booing the home team and then leave in disgust, which will only help us.

For all the talk of how hardcore their fans are, last year they ran out of there like rats abandoning a sinking ship once we got a decent lead.

How 'bout if the roles were reversed...if Dallas could be the spoiler with no reason to win, would they give it their best shot?

Some reason, I just don't think they would.

Yeah, same here. An opening drive TD might even be enough to do it, and then a Mcnabb int wouldnt hurt either. I could see a real stinker by McNabb this week the way the D has been playing.

I can't remember one Cowboys/Eagles game where Philadelphia gave up the game. Sure, there have been some games where they have been inept at competing, but they didn't quit fighting either. Why should Sunday's game be any different?

Philly won't pack it in for this game. Forget it. We are going to have to earn this victory. We are the team that has had urgency problems all season long.........

please don't go there, I just had a vison of Wade giving his best "aw shucks, no reason for both team's seasons to end today" reasoning. :)
