For the record I think he'll do excellent but just suppose he has a bad year are there going to be any good quarterbacks available in next years draft? Hopefully the Browns bomb and Romo has a tremendous year then we can go after McFadden. Is it to early to ask this question though? I want the opinion of all the college football buffs here..what quarterbacks do you see going in next years draft that could make a huge impact in the NFL?

Huge is a lot to ask. These are the ones (in no particular order) who will get media attention.

Brian Brohm, Lousiville
John David Booty, USC
Colt Brennan, Hawaii
Andre Woodson, Kentucky

At the moment color me "underwhelmed".

Hopefully we won't need a QB.

Brohm from Louisville and Colt Brennan from Hawaii are at this point are pretty much considered the best QBs in this upcoming draft. Along with John David Booty and Woodson from Kentucky.

I'm holding out for Colt McCoy of Texas if we have to have a QB that badly. But he isn't available until 2009.

I think Romo is entrenched for the forseeable future though barring a horrible injury.

Don't know if he will succeed in the NFL, but you have to love the name "Colt" for a football player.

Now, Booty, on the other hand.......................

Thanks for the list, Im going to keep an eye on these guys throughout the college football season. I believe Romo will do outstanding though but theres still a part of me that knows he's still somewhat unproven.

What is considered as a bad year?

Also, had to consider the circumstances of a "bad" year.

Finally, does one poor season by a QB who is relatively young justifies looking to replace him?

Just an FYI, Mike Mayock has Matt Ryan as his #1 QB right now. Strange pick, but he's probably just trolling for attention.

I'd be skiptical of any QB that comes out of Hawaii with that pass happy offence. However from what I've been hearing is that he is actually really good and isn't a typical UH QB. Of all the QB's that are/could be coming out this next draft Brohm would be the one I'd take.

I agree with you, but Colt is just a great name for an NFL QB. Kinda like Buck, or Flint.

I thought of a couple of others who will also be ranked as day 1 QBs.

Chad Henne, Michigan
Erik Ainge, Tennessee

...and possibly...

Matt Ryan, Boston College

It is possible, but not likely that Colt McCoy could come out after this season. He is a red shirt sophomore, so he will eligible by NFL standards. I doubt he comes out. I like his moxie, but I am just not sure about him as an NFL QB at this time. The evaluation will be better after this season.
