Not to mention he'll be 29 at the start of the season. He should still have some years left but I'd rather get rid of him too soon than too late.

These are the kinds of decisions you need a GM for.

You only need an accountant to make this decision.

In your opinion.

I say you take the hit to make yourself better in the future. When you have a better chance to compete.

I agree. We can also load up on picks and move up in the draft next year.. Clowney, Bridgewater, Taj Gibson..

Austin isn't a 1. He was never a 1. They overreacted and paid him like one but he's not.

Dez Bryant is a 1. Austin can be a nice 2 when he's healthy but he's not worth the contract, he's got injury issues and the team would be best served long term to move him now.

That is what Az said about Boldin, Fitz got the $$ and Boldin got the ring. Just saying...

As for the discussion, yes to taking a 2nd round pick for Miles

That would be a nice plan.

If Austin went on to win a Super Bowl this year with the 49ers I still wouldn't regret the trade. He wasn't doing that here. The pick and future cap relief puts us in a better position to compete.

You are seeing the whole picture while others hang their hopes on this being a Super Bowl contending team this year. Dallas is not going to a Super Bowl this year. If a move can be made to help the future with picks and salary cap unloading, you do it.

Remember Jenkins? Dallas really did well by keeping him. Some games he didn't even play.

Yes, and then went ahead and took another TE in the 2nd round. Doesn't exactly speak volumes for Hanna does it? The love for Hanna around here is getting out of hand.

That pick was about replacing Witten in the next two years. Had nothing to do with Hanna.

So, how would Dallas absorb 10 mill this season if Austin is gone? This is not Madden.

How many people thought the Ravens would be in the Super Bowl let alone win? You can't sit here in May and say what this team will do 6 months from now....

This team is built to win NOW. Our best players are Ratliff, Romo, Witten and Ware and they are all over 30. If you trade Miles then you should trade the rest of those guys and just strictly commit to rebuilding.

Absolutely yes. I dont like Austin and i like his salary even less.

That 3.15 million dollar cap hit to our salary cap last season was depressing.....

Trade Spencer too..

OK, Austin and Spencer are gone, now what? Who takes over? Is the team better or worse off?

This team has some dead weight that needs to go for cap reasons. Austin is part of it. If you think this is a Super Bowl team, you are blind. Bless your heart, keep on wishing.

I'll ask you again, how many people thought the Ravens were a Super Bowl Contender? Because 7 months ago all I heard was how the Ravens were old and had deadweight and Flacco can't win the big game. Its not that I think this team is a Super Bowl. Its that I simply don't know and neither do you Mrs. Cleo.

This team is closer to a SB run then they are to a top 5 pick. By trading away Miles, Spencer, etc then they will be closer to that pick. Yes it sucks having those contracts but I would rather see what this team can do when healthy and the current roster.

We're a 8-8 team with the current core.. Check the results the last 5 years..
