If Sidney Jones is there in the 3rd, do you

Trade our 2018 2nd round and 5th round pick to take him? Here's my logic. Jones may or may not be available this year, so you are taking a player that has first round talent for a future 2nd and scraps. That and we should be getting 3-4 comp picks next year. Thoughts?

I would take Conley in the 3rd if he slides that far. I think he is most likely innocent in that rape charge.

I'm 50-50 on taking him in the third. I'd have to see how the draft played out to give it a thumbs up or thumbs down.

But why would we have to give up picks to get him?
No picks traded, please. If he's there, give it consideration. If we have to go up to get him, no. He aint Neion Deion.

Not the worst idea I've ever heard (or thought up myself!)

Essentially a "future player" for future picks.

I'm just not sure who, if anyone would be happy to give up a 3rd rounder this year for that second and whatever in 2018. Tough to just sit it out.

Why? Because you default to a "women lie" view?

No because, there's already been proof that she did lie.

She claimed her first encounter with him was in the hotel elevator where he asked her for a foursome. Video has leaked of them together at and leaving a club. She was trying to get his attention as he had his arm around someone else.

Edit: Clearly, that alone doesn't exonerate him, but it casts doubt on her account for already fudging her story.

For me, it's due to the information I have seen. Based on what I currently know, his case looks better all the time while the accuser's looks worse.

If you have any information that refutes that, I'd like to hear it. It might change my mind.

No. Trading future picks is a horrible investment

How do. It's not teasing up. It's using a pick from next year to draft a guy who's return to form will likely be next year, with the added bonus of getting production this year. I'm all over it.

Now if I have to package next years pick plus a premium pick this years, no thanks.

I can tell by your post here that you endorse violence against women. Don't try to weasel your way out of it.

You're trading a second for a third. What happens if we get hit by injuries and that 2nd becomes a high second ala 2016?

If Sidney Jones is available in the third or fourth round I definitely consider pulling the trigger. Especially if we take a corner in with pick 1 or 2.

By the way, I wonder if the recent news on Smith recovering would make us more likely to take a chance on Jones. Granted, the situations are different. Jones' injury isn't as severe as Smith's was but on the flipside it was our team doctor that did the work on Smith so we had some inside knowledge on the kid.

But I recall part of the rationale in taking Smith was that they viewed him as a Top 5 talent and they weren't drafting for one year.......... they were drafting for multiple years. That same logic could apply to Jones.

I would.

Our 3rd is basically a 4th.

If he checks out medically then go for it.

I will say 1 thing. I know Achilles injuries have become easier for athletes to come back from but I still worry about a corner that has torn their Achilles. I've never gotten over Kevin Smith being a shell of himself.
