Aaron Donald is off the board, Barr is off the board.

Jerrigan, Ford, Martin and Shazier on the board

16. Ryan Shazier OLB- Ryan brings speed and the ability to cover on this defense. I would place him at Will, Lee at Mike and Carter, Holloman battle it out at SAM. Too many times we were burnt by the RB being covered by Carter, it is just not his strength and Shazier has the ability to play the run and the pass. This is more ideal in a trade back, but he brings more to this defense than Jerrigan and Ford IMO. Ford is my pet cat so that is tough for me to say.

47. Scott Crichton DE- Lunch pale guy, comes to work every day, you know what you are going to get from him, he plays the run and can rush the passer. I see a younger version of Spencer in Crichton and these are the guys that Marnelli just works wonders with.

76. Billy Turner OT- I am kind of afraid the Cowboys may use the 47 pick to get Turner because of the level of interest. You do not bring someone three times and not want the guy, he is on the Cowboys radar with the intent of him being a Day 1 starter. I place him at RT and move Free inside but he has position flex and fits the ZBS.

119. Aaron Murray QB- I am going luxury pick, yes sir, I want a QB that can be groomed. Murray is a smart QB, has a quick release, not the strongest arm, but great on timing. He is accurate and if he looks good in minicamp then Orton may be trade bait. We need some youth here and someone that won't challenge Romo right away, but next year could be a different story.

158. Caraun Reid DT- Im getting our 1 tech and putting him next to Melton. Reid is quick and 302 pounds that will occupy a couple of blockers. Reid is underrated IMO, he should be a 3rd rounder in my book, but he falls due to the talent in this draft at certain positions.

229. Austin Franklin WR- He has some leaping ability and quite honestly could be a steal in the 7th round. He has a knack to get open and I like how he uses his hands to catch the ball. He could actually find himself in the WR rotation next year.

231. Jonathan Dowling FS- He has potential of being a good FS in this league, but I think he will become a great special teams player. Always around the ball.

238. DeAnthony Thomas RB- His speed and elusiveness is what makes me take him here. He and Dunbar battle it out and may the best man win.

248. Brandon Thomas OG- He will not play this year, and we will have to wait but that is the luxury of having 6 7th round picks. Will he last? Maybe/Maybe not but there is a good chance he does.

251. Aaron Colvin CB- Due to injuries he is here, he has an uphill battle but has potential.

254. Trey Millard- FB that can be good on special teams and possibly can help in the run game.

This mock is what I would do, Ford was a tough call for me because I really like him but Shazier brings more to that front 7 IMO. I think first 3 players are day 1 starters, Reid instant rotational player. (I think starter but he will be used either way) Murray is needed, grooming needs to be started now, and he would projected much higher if his injury would not had happened. Franklin and B Thomas have upside. Rest will battle in camp.

What do you think?

I will do a realistic mock here soon, but this is my Tejano is the GM mock.

If you can trade down to 20-24 and pick up a third rd pick then I can live with taking shazier but at 16 or even lower down I would take Jernigan
