If the Cowboys are eliminated by Saturday evening, what do you do?

They went to a whole NFC Championship after that. I'm 100% sure they didnt give ** about that game in the context of their season.
Actually they did give a ***. But it was fun regardless, just like the same for them when RGIII came to Dallas as a rookie. All fun. They didn't come back being fortune tellers of the future for what transpired 4-5 weeks later.

The Cowboys can be eliminated from contention before even playing our game on Sunday, which was said last night during the game. With that said, if we're out do we let our starters play such as Dak, or do we allow Milton to get in to play. Are we trying to get better draft positioning, do we let younger guys get in maybe (Blue)/ Izzy who we just signed?

To a lot of you that season is over, with the 1% chance we have, there's not much to hold on to! Please give your thoughts!
This scenario has already been brought up in another thread, but I'll say it again,

no, you don't pull your starters yet It's against all thinking in sports sportsmanship starts with you putting your best teams on the field because you can't allow the teams you're playing to get a pass, somehow if you let them win a game, it could affect somebody elses playoff hopes, this is like when we talk about Strahan and how Brett Farve fell down, and that's how he got the record, see that's bad sportsmanship, that's unfair to the guy who held the other record..

So, for this next game you for Sure Start your entire team Whoever's healthy plays that's what everyone said in the other thread and now I'm going to say it again in this thread...

So,

let's just move on from the whole tanking, and trying to keep people healthy now,

I think there's other guys out there that would at least like one more game to reach some of their goals, statistically,

I know stats don't matter to you, but some of them get bonuses for it ,some of them just have a record ,they want to keep going, like CD lamb another 1000 yard season, maybe he gets another 1100 yard season ,whatever helps him ,And by the way don't say that doesn't happen..

We heard this out of the mouth of the Minnesota Vikings head coach saying it doesn't matter that they're eliminated the one thing he doesn't want to happen on his watch is that Justin Jefferson doesn't get another 1000 yards...

Yes, it is important ,so whenever they decide to sit them, they'll sit them, but I say at least this game, But I would like to beat the Chargers I would love to have a winning record..

by the way that's also a record Prescott's never been part of a losing season, why he's been healthy... I don't think he wants to purposely lay down and tank and then have a losing season put on him, just because you think it's time to sit everyone...

Keep the draft out of your mind and worry about everyone's health let that be up to them and the coaching staff...

So, I think the two games I would like to see our starters roll out there and try to win if you want to lay down the last game that's fine just like last year we played we played Trey Lance...

Milton will get his chance and maybe do this,

An alternate compromise,

How about you play to win these games, you pull guys early, whether you're being blown out ,or you're ahead, then you start mixing in your other players..mid 3rd QTR etc.. For the 4th quarter or whatever,

you can start doing that over these next two games and for sure the last game if it means nothing all the backups should play...

We'll have to see how everyone's schedule is. Have you ever been to the stadium
Sorry I'm butting into y'all's conversation. LOL To preface, I've never been to a college football or NFL football game before so I had never been in a football stadium in general.... I did go the Browns stadium a few years ago when there was concert there. But as I was waiting for the concert to start, I looked around the stadium from my seat... The field looked small.... LOL

Once mathematically eliminated, you still play to win the games. We have young players who need the experience and coaches that need to keep growing. We have a first year head coach, a first year OC, and a first year OL coach. I’m not sure about the other positional coaches. They all need to get better, players and coaches.

The only players you shut down are those playing with significant injuries or in need of off-season surgery.

Decisions on the DC and all position coaches on both sides of the ball, along with special teams need to be made as soon as possible.
:hammer:THIS

You said IF???? Thats hilarious....

With that said, NOW that the season is over, you keep playing football until the last game. They get paid to play football every game, so if you're healthy, you play.

We need to stop with this "try to get in better draft position" or tanking or any of that weak ****. Draft position doesn't fully guarantee success in the future.

Look at teams like the Browns or Jets who are always seemingly drafting players in the top selections every year.... how's that working out for them?

Its not all about the people you draft, its about the people that teach and coach. The first thing our front office should be looking at is Eberflus' replacement.

Start there. Then use every damn draft pick on defensive players, especially the secondary and linebackers.
:hammer:AGREE

Play them.
Players have incentives in their contracts.
Plus this is not a good sign for a team to sit players just because they are eliminated from the playoffs.

Yes, later in the games, you try to get in some work for players you want to see what they have. But not at the expense of sitting starters just to sit. Kind of like a preseason game, but don't start pulling them at half time.

The NFL would frown upon this type of sitting players. As it will mess with the competitive balance. Say a team B is on the bubble to make the playoffs. But need another team A to win. But they have no chance if that team sits players. Then the other team C gets in the playoffs because team A chooses not to play their starters.
As a fan what would you do?

Maybe this would be the time to get Jayden Blue some plays in.
Late games, out of hand, Milton gets some reps.
Other than that, they had so many injuries, they already had to play back up players to get a look at. And it was not that great.

So our last 2 games, against Washington and NYG, none of these games mean a thing. So yeah pull starters late in the games. But what if we were playing a team we could knock out of the playoffs such as a loss for the Chargers could damage their chances, and help teams like Indy and Houston.
This is what I said written differently but exactly what I said I agree.. :hammer: .

I've been lucky enough to go both to Texas Stadium and ATT more than a few times. not a lot but.. It's a pretty cool experience.. Although I prefer to watch football from home it's just a better experience as far as following the game the penalties and 1st yard markers and all that stuff but definitely experiencing it is a must do at least once...

Play Solitaire.

Honestly, you play Milton. You play Mafah, you play Blue.

Dare I say, you play Diggs. Unless Jerry thinks he'll intentionally go out there and stink it up.

Yeah but there's different ways of going about that you can get them in 1/4 or A half but I think you need to start the next two games with your full complement of starters whoever is healthy plays But when you're mathematically eliminated you start getting those guys in more and more but you don't immediately pull Prescott and the starters let's just take it one game at a time and see how it works out but you're right those guys I would love to see them I even know if they have a call up left I mean the only reason Phil hasn't been brought up is probably because they didn't want to use up all their IR call UPS. Looking like Williams might be a little dinged up it might be time to bring the banger out let's see what he can do...
