It would be fascinating to see a professional sports teams' stock share value rise and fall based off of how well they were playing. Of course, this would open the door to a great deal of ridicule. (i.e., "Such-and-such a team is mired in a 9-game losing streak and their stock just fell further to $24.52 per share!")

I wouldn't, it's completely worthless because you can't sell it back like a normal stock. So you have a piece of paper that says congrats.. you are a partial owner of the Cowboys.

No way ... you buy stock in a company because the product they sell is a better product than others on the market ... i dont see that in this company.

I can tell you don't own any stock. You buy stock because the company makes MONEY, not because of a product. I lot of pharmacal company on the market don't even have a product and they go public.

Ugh, probably not. I don't think the cowboys are showing a long term trend upwards in market value. If anything it's leveled off the past few years.

I can't imagine them being worth much more than the 2.1 billion they are already valued at...

I think people said that when they were worth 1.2 billion a few years ago when the stadium opened. The cowboys will be worth 2.2 or 2.3 billion next year because of Cowboys stadium and appreciation alone.

You cannot sell Packer Stock i know that. Your literally getting just a piece of paper that says your owner of the Packers. There is no money value to the stock. You cant lose money on the stock you cant earn money from the stock. you give them $250 and they print a piece of paper thats says your owner and thats it.

JJ should be all over that

I love my team, but as a stock I’d short sell the hell out of the cowboys. Unpredictable ownership, underperforming their sector (NFL) for over a decade, repeated failure to meet earnings (wins) forcasts, low productivity during critical demand seasons (the playoffs) and their new factory (stadium) has thus far produced an inferior product. Sell Sell Sell! Just kidding, I’d have to own at least one share. Then I could go to shareholder meetings and give JJ the what for.

The ones the Packers sold are actually worthless. They are not like a "real" stock.

This. I believe the only actually publicly traded sports team that has an actual value is the Boston Celtics.
