On a positive note.....(eh), our Cowboys would be in. The destiny of the Cowboys for this season at this point, is still in their control. Thats what you hope for at this point.

Hear that Tony??? :)

Big Deal. Romo would just choke in our first play off game and give whoever we play the win all by himself.

I guess you're not a fan anymore? Win or lose, you still gotta hope. I'm just too stupid to know better.

I don't get these "if the playoff started tomorrow" arguments and scenarios.

The playoffs DON'T start tomorrow. So who cares.

What matters is where we are at the end of the season. I just don't see the value in that argument. :(

There are no positive notes.

Nothing but negatives from this team tonight. Not one thing from today can be viewed as a positive.

thrown in how many injuries we had, hell Jason witten had Two xrays during the game for two different things, anyway throw in the injuries and this loss will probably get worse tomorrow.

I am sure sooner or later this team will get a real QB who can win big games. Romo is no Staubach nor his a Troy Aikman. He does not have what it takes to win big games like those QBs did.

You didn't think the defense played well?

Well, with 3 games to go it does mean something. Especially, knowing that they don't have to rely on anyone else losing or relying on some other team to help. It's important to know where you stand. (NO BCS BS)

And where they stand right now is that they have to win out.

I thought Atlanta gets our spot?

Atlanta lost today. We now own the tiebreaker over Atlanta, if we end up tied.

It played well for most of the game. However they dont give wins to teams that play well most of the game.

Newman cant give up that play and in turn allow the steelers offense to find a rhythm. It was exactly like the arizona game where henry missed the tackle and allowed them to convert a 3rd and long and then find their rhythm.

This team is beyond the point of moral victories, finding positives etc...

They should have finished the game off. They would have broke the steelers back on that 3rd and 16 had they made the stop. But that is what this defense and offense do and have a track record of doing. That is why they have not won anything other than the division one time.

But I will be right there in the stadium or in front of the tv begging them to find a way to finish every week. Its just that I am starting to wonder if this group can, that was a travesty to lose this game and I dont find one positive out of it.

The effort was there especially considering the injuries and injuries that occurred during the game. It was everything You could ask for as a fan, but they still couldnt win, which is a big indicator and really tells me something about this group.

So what does that have to do with us being in if the playoffs started tomorrow?

the defense was outstanding. holding pitt to 13 given the field position they had is remarkable. newman gave up one play big deal, it happens.

if romo plays half as bad as he did today against the giants, it's going to be over by halftime

The Cowboys are 6-4 in the NFC and the Falcons are 5-4 in the NFC. So we are one half a game ahead of the Facons in the NFC record. The thing is the Cowboys have 2 NFC games and the Falcons have 3 NFC games. So let's say that both the Cowboys and the Falcons win the rest of their games. The Cowboys would be 11-5 with an NFC record of 8-4 and the Falcons would also be 11-5 with an NFC record of 8-4. What is the next tie-breaker?

The Cowboys do have the 6th seed over the Falcons right now, but is that just because we are a half a game ahead of the Falcons in the NFC tie-breaker right now or do we also hold the next tie-breaker over them?

Tyke, don't be such a literalist, you know as well as I do that being in this playoff position is important. I know the playoffs don't start tomorrow. But that said, its good to know that if we take care of bidness, we're in, no ifs and or butts.

I was looking for something positive to take from today. If we win next week and Romo looks good, all this negativity tonite will be forgotten, like last weeks stomach ache.
