UDFA and late picks...this year is very different. Sad but it is what it is.

These are the 10 players I would cut:

    Deante Burton
    Forbath
    Justin Hamilton
    Wyatt Miller
    Cody Wichmann
    Cole Hikutini
    Tevin Jones
    Clayton Thorson
    Jordan Chunn
    Marcus Henry

The good thing is those 10 are easy
The last 10 with such limited camp and game play is gonna be tough

Halfway through the season they are going to be signing backups off this website. I call first!

Easy to come up with 10, but which 10. Easily can get a list of 15, but but which 5 stay. Depends on numbers at each position and reps.

4 QB's, so Dows Thorson go, or they keep him just to give others rest.
    12 WR's, so at least 1
    15 OL, I say at least 2
    5 RB's, 2 FB's, I say possible 1 RB, but keep both FB's for a little while.
    6 TE's, probably 1 can go
    8 LB's, all stay
16 DL, but one is Woods, and I do not believe he has signed his ERFA offer yet. Anyway, I can see 2 or 3 here
    16 DB's, at least 2 here, probably 3
5 ST's, I can see none here, 's need to compete, the other LS possibly can go. No time for a non experienced player over LP.

Just will be a numbers game of reps at each positions.

He hit 10 of 10 at the end of the year. So o figure he is in the mix.

I like your list, but I would keep Hikutini and and get rid of longsnapper Joe Fortunato instead. Hikutini did some nice things on the practice squad last year and Mike McCarthy uses a lot of TE's.

Hmmm ... I don't think I had heard that we signed him because it appeared Zeurlein wasn't going to sign. Salaries already showed that we were planning to keep Zeurlein over Forbath, but I thought the intent was to at least have them battle for the spot since Zeurlein had a bad year and Forbath was 10 for 10 with us.

Not sure why a thread I just made about other players who have been cut by Dallas was removed, but was reading an Associated Press story that included the fact that Savion Smith has been placed on reserve COVID and Joe Fortunato and Azur Kamara have been cut.

I have not seen this information posted elsewhere.

That makes our roster moves: Jon'Vea Johnson (reserve/COVID), Maurice Canady (opt out), Stephen Guidry (opt out), Jordan Chunn (waived injured), Garrett Marino (waived ill), Kai Forbath, Savion Smith (reserve/COVID), Joe Fortunato and Azur Kamara. That's nine. Not sure if we have one more spot or we were holding one for Randy Gregory or hadn't filled Travis Frederick's spot.

We also have Tyrone Crawford and Dontari Poe starting out on PUP.

Just went and counted the players at dallascowboys.com and the moves put us at 78 plus the two on PUP, so there's our 80.

Would have preferred to keep Marino, Forbath and Kamara, but it appears illness and injury were the reasons two of them were waived and apparently Dallas felt that using the roster spot elsewhere was more important than having Forbath battle Zeurlein.

Just saw that. Could be a mistake. He hit 10 for 10 with a lot of pressure on him at the end of the year. He will find a job somewhere.
