Roy Wiliams will get about 80-90 receptions for the year and 1100 yards.

If we continue to move the chains like that their are going to be a lot of receptions to go around. Even with that ball controll emphasis Romo still averaged 8 yards per attempt which id very good.

Williams is such a big target that if they get their timming down really well he is going to be a security blanket like Witten is.

I think expecting at least 70 for 1000 and 8 TDs is pretty reasonable.

If we focused on getting him the ball, he could clearly do more, but there are so many options on the offense, there's no need to focus on him. If they give him favorable coverage, go his way. If not, don't.

I definately agree. He had 5 catches in one half against the Titans. Granted we had 3 long drives in a half which is not going to be commonplace I doubt but just in the natural course I don't see any reason he won't get 5-6 a game.

If the Titans game was indicative, then there's no way he'll get 1100 yard. He averaged like 7 ypc, with 90 catches thats only 630 yards.

I think those projections for both catches and yards are a little high, unless Garett opens up the playbook a lot more and uses him downfield (which I kinda expect).

They did throw deep to Roy in the Titans game. Tony just overthrew it.

His YPC was skewed lower due to the quick pass in the short yardage situation. Reverse those two plays and he probably has an unusually high YPC. Just the problem of small sample size.

Roy is the #1 receiver, in a 16 game season he should be able to catch 5 balls/game that will put him at least 80 catches. Now say he can turn those 5 catches into 75 yards/game. That will give him 80 catches 1200 yards and maybe 8+ TDs. Are those #1 receiver numbers? It isn't that hard to accumulate stats in the NFL as long as you get the playing time.

I'd be very happy with 80-90 and 1100. I do not, however, think the second preseason game is indicative of anything. If that were the case, Robert Meachem would be getting Larry Fitzgerald numbers very year.

So far so good though w/ the Tony/RW hookup.

In a league with so few actual #1s (there are nowhere near 32 WR1s) those numbers would be good...maybe top 10 even.

I see many defensive holding and pass interference calls on the opposing defenses because I doubt he will get the respect of a double team and he is a bit much for one corner to handle. I am ok w/ a guy that can move the sticks.

They'd definitely be top 10 numbers, close to top 5 numbers.

Yeah, I'd take that all day!

1200 would put him 9th last season and 8 TDs would also put him way up there--3 way tie for 8th place. Nice.

Roys just got to move the chains. If he played like he did on Friday picking up third downs, he'll be fine. This is going to be a different offense. Ball control picking up key third downs. That being said, there still needs to be shots down the field to keep the safeties honest.

True and RW has the speed to do that as well 4.38 is fast enough to beat a man down field.

I don't necessarily mean the actual results but the type of offense and the ball control style we ran. If we do that and RW and Romo continue to develope that kind of chemistry throughout the year he will easily average 5-6rec a game.

I could see him doing 50-60 receptions and about 14 ypc - which would take him to 700-840 yards and about 8 TDs. I just don't think we are going to target him much more than that. But I do people are fooling themselves if you think defenses aren't "worried" about him, no matter how many passes come his way.

I see him averaging more than 3-4 catches per game. I think 70 is a minimum, assuming he's healthy for 16 games.

There were 30 wide receivers that had more than 60 catches last year. That's a pretty small amount of catches.

T.O. caught 69 passes and I'd guess 150 were thrown in his direction including the ones he dropped. He dropped atleast 1 a game so he should have had atleast 80 catches. Roy is good for 85 catches this year.

If RW only has 65 catches and this team advances in the post season that is what matter to me. Not can we match TO numbers. TO had great numbers and this team still failed to do anything in post season. 2007 we had 13 pro bowl players yet failed as a team in the post season to me this is the year we play like a team and go win games.

The Pats has 3 SB seasons where no WR had 1,000 yards yet won the championship because for them it is more important to win than for any one individual person numbers. If Dallas could focus on team over the individuals and their own personal number the better.
