If they go to Pittsburgh and Dak plays well and gets the win, then

I'm not saying he should announce it. I'm saying he needs to finally speak and put any controversy to rest. He needs to squash any speculation that he may be unhappy behind the scenes because that it what the story will be if and when Dak is announced as the full time starter.

That is not Romo job to announce anything, it is Romo job to get himself ready and when the coaches call his number to be able to go out and perform to a high level. That is Romo job. He does not need to say anything regarding the position. Romo is a competitor and while he has been helping Dak out he still expect to get his chance to get back on the field.

I totally disagree. If Dak is announced as the full time starter, Romo should not allow the negative stories to fester and force all his teammates to answer questions about the QB for weeks and weeks. He needs to finally step up and put any controversy to rest.

You can disagree all you want but Tony Romo is not going to say he is giving up and now the job is Dak. That is totally stupid. Fans have an issue this team does not. You talk about the controversy? What controversy the one you guys are having here? LOL Romo is a player his job is to get himself ready to play not settle some childish argument on a message board.

I am talking about a situation where Dak is announced by the team as the full time starter. At that point the story will become what does Romo think about that decision and all the coaches and players will then be bombarded with question after question about Romo. He needs to squash it all if that happens and that is my point. You think he should remain silent and let the negative stories and questions surround the team? That's ridiculous. I know he wants to play but if the team decides on Dak, he needs to publicly squash any controversy should it start to occur. He can do that and still get prepared to play. It would take all of two minutes.

I think his job will be to continue to work and wait until he gets a chance to get in the game. I don't expect him to comment on it to make idiot fans happy. I do not expect him to sulk or cause problems on the team either.

I believe that but think it's no coincidence Romo hasn't commented publicly on the situation. Not sure tho how he can "win" the job back at this point. The team does seem to improve with every week but laws of probability says it's not realistic we run the table the rest of the season. With that I don't see a loss being that trigger for Dak to lose the job.
I don't either.

I think this thing is going to get messed up. Play Dak and if he fails in playoffs, everyone will say SHOULD HAVE STARTED ROMO. Start Romo, he fails in playoffs, everyone says SHOULD NOT HAVE MESSED WITH A GOOD THING AND STUCK WITH DAK.

Totally agree. Unless we win the Super Bowl, we are going to be criticized for the decision that was made.

Well I think everyone would go along with and understand staying with dak.
More so than going back to tony who hasnt played this year.
Besides all the media people are saying stay with dak, and most fans are.

Also this pitt game is huge for both teams, pitt needs a win bad and would love to beat dallas.
It is in their stadium, so a really tough game for dak.

This is a game that I am a little worried about, but I think Dak will find a way to win.
Sure hope so.

I've watched the NFL for four decades, including real internal team situations far and away more controversial than Dallas' present non-issue. To be frank, it would be incredulous for any player to act in a completely atypcial way not attempted or demonstrated in NFL history. I'm not certain it is... reasonable to assume Romo should create a league milestone moment in this instance. In both the grand and simple scheme of things, it's not that important regardless what anyone thinks of the situation.

So it appears they are naming Dak the starter. I still wish Romo would go on record and put any lingering doubt to rest that he is on board with the team's decision. I'd love to hear him say Dak has earned the right to keep playing but he will be ready if or when needed.

It's not Tony's job to make an announcement about it. Besides that, it has already been made clear he is on board with the decision.

At this point, I do not expect "the Romo should start" believers to embrace logic or Dak. It's become their albatross
Well a few have changed their minds after this pitt game, erod is one, and well see if Romo still wins the weekly thread or not.

Dak is either the luckiest qb ever, or he just has a knack for winning games, and motivating the offense.
I think with each win they believe in him and the team more and more.
They are getting stronger mentally.

I just hope they dont get overconfident like the 2007 team, and just think all they have to do is show up and play and they will win.
They have to keep working hard and not let it go to their heads.

Did I call this to a tee or what? Where are all of you who said no QB would ever do this? My instincts on things like this are usually spot on! He did exactly what I said he should do and he said he was doing it for the exact reason I said he should do it.
