He's still our best corner and elite when heakthy. If they want to trade him, raise his value first. Let him play more man for a few games and get a few picks. He's worth a 1st at his best. It looks like emotion is clouding judgement. Let him shine to remind the league what he's worth.

Let's break this down

1. Elite, he's elite at what? He once was, his poor tackling/effort causes him NOT to be on this level
2. Trade- Can't get effort out of him now with him being on the IR for 4 weeks, he is what he is, the team will get what they get
3. He's not worth a first round pick, nobody on our defense is worth a 1st round pick, we have to be more realistic and realize he may only get us a 5-7th round pick, anything less than that, the nfl team may need to be "tested"
4. No emotion, just seems that what he's going through has the writing on the wall, if it were something not so suspect, we'd know what had happened by now, but we don't, so it's seemingly very suspect

Except he hasn’t been any good for several years now, is constantly injured and doesn’t look too interested when he is on the field. On top of that, he has a sizeable contract so he is basically untradeable for the cowboys. He is going to be a cap space casualty for next year.

TO facilitate the trade, what if we took on the majority of his contract just to make the trade go through???

WIth him going on the IR he is completely untradable, but even before his value was pretty much nothing. Good rule in general is that if you and the majority of fans want a player gone no team is going to want to give you anything for that player.

I have to disagree on effort and tackling. I think he's done ok at that this season... better than his zone coverage

Because the other issue is that Diggs has been mostly trash on the field going back to last season. Even if you pay a portion of his contract you're still likely to get maybe a 5th rounder at best. If you hang onto him and just cut him this coming offseason you can save $12-15M against the cap. That $12-15m by cutting his is way more valuable than a late draft pick

sounds good to me, we know how the jones's love to save money!!! lol

Trade him when he is fully healthy during the draft.

To some degree maybe it was that first game he came back, after that I'm seeing the same diggs, he'll look at the ball carrier, but he's not interested in doing much more lol

He's gonna be on the back burner for a while and probably going into next season he will be viewed merely as some kind of insurance.

The assumption that there are NFL GMs as stupid as Jerry Jones is an affliction among Cowboys fans. Forget it. He can’t play for four weeks. The trade deadline is in 10 days. What do you expect to get for a guy who can give you seven weeks, is fabulously expensive and that has been nothing for a couple of years? Seriously? He’s worth nothing.

You can’t trade him now.

Had he came back and played well he would have been of some value. Now he’s with nothing in a trade
