We dont know what will happen obviously, but if Ware is given his walking papers will you look at Jerry and feel like maybe he has learned something over the years and got it right this time? Does it indicate some change? Will you view Jerry any differently and have a better opinion of him for letting Ware go?

no.he still is extending people who dont need extending ,we could have saved a lot of money by letting Lee play out his rookie contract but Jerry cant help himself.

If Ware is let go I won't think any better of Jerry considering the whole reason he would be cut is because Jerry gave foolish extensions to lesser players that hadn't proven themselves yet. (Lee, Austin...)

If Ware refuses to work with Jerry to improve his cap number and give the Cowboys relief he should be released but I've a hunch he's going to ball next season. I hope it isn't on a division rival's roster.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Yes.

I always change my opinion about someone when they do something to cover up the really stupid things they did to begin with.

Not really. Show me some kind of trend where Jerry is making the right decisions time after time first.

The only way my opinion of Jerry would change is if he put me in his will & since that isn't happening my answer is NO! :p

For 18 years, I thought Jerry was a great owner but a fool as a GM.....from listening to his numerous interviews over the last two weeks, I think he's even a bigger fool as a GM than ever before......Jerry no longer cares about winning, but just being relevant in the news..

Yeah also Romo. There was no reason to extend either of them. Especially Lee. Sean Lee, since college, has not proven he can stay on the field. Yet we extend him anyways. But I guess Jerry buys the logic I see on here so many times. That 8 games of Sean Lee is worth it and better than someone subpar starting all 16. That is completely false and no way to make personnel decisions.

This would not change my mind about Jerry because it won't offset years and years of horrible personnel decisions. But it would be a step in the right direction. And that is to rid yourself of these old players who are on the wrong side of 30 and clearly breaking down. That is not the recipe for success in the NFL.

I think Jerry learned after Rat hosed him IMO.

What is it, 16 million for Ware next year? or whatever, it's high, he has to get at least 15 sacks for that kind of money IMO.

I feel Jerry and the contract gang gave DeMarcus a solid contract that would give the team an out if Ware wasn't producing like he did in his lean and mean years. Ware failed his own self during the last two seasons. As the fans caretaker of the Cowboys Jones has an obligation to take care of our team by giving Ware his release. J Jones better do his part.

I bet that Ware’s drop in production last season was due more so to his age than his injuries

Did you just ask me if Jerry has to cut his best defensive player because of the mismanaged cap if it will change my opinion of him for the better?

Aw come on RS, I specifically looked for your response when I read the OP's question.

You can't leave me hanging, ole buddy.

The overwhelming answer will be no.

Jerry will be bashed unmercifully no matter the outcome of his decisions.

And most would play both sides of the argument.

Personally it'd have to change perspective a bit.

He'd usually keep ware and cutting him would definitely be a step in the right direction.

And calling him the teams best defensive player is a bald faced lie.

sounds like stephen might be voicing his opinion..

my opinion will waver a bit if they release austin ,ware and spencer though.

not sure what to with hatcher yet...but he has an attitude like he wants to get paid....so to hell with him too.

i will say great job ..

my biggest fear is what they are going to do in the draft...
