I've been doing a lot of thinking about them Bears lately.
I know, the Saints are up, not the Bears.
But if we can agree that the road to the Super Bowl goes through Chicago, then consider how shaky this Bears team is.
They'll be newcomers, just like the Cowboys, to the playoffs.
They are led by an awsomely inconsistent QB who is so gun-shy now that his bad decisions and bad throws keep multiplying.
They are one dimensional in that they are built on defense.
Their offense is a scattershot of WRs who fade into the statistical woodwork.
Two bickering RBs, one of them Benson from UT who has ridden the bench.
They have sputtered lately because of injury to Pro Bowler Tommie Harris (possibly out for the season) and CB Nathan Vasher (questionable), safety Michael Brown (perhaps out for the season) and safety Johnson (questionable) who has a sprained ankle.
And several other injuries of varying degrees.
But there should be no illusions that Chicago, with the Rams this week, then the Bucs, Lions and Packers, will be losing many games.
But IF the Cowboys can somehow get a bye then play someone at home, they'll likely be facing a tired and injury-depleted Bears team.
The Cowboys and Bears seem to have a relatively easy schedule for their last games and seem headed toward a collision.
Imagine, a Cowboys-Chicago matchup in January.
Awesome.
