I apologize if this idea has already been floated around, but I haven't been around much this offseason.

Anyway, if we let Colombo walk, do we move Flo to RT and let McQ man the LT spot?

I have always felt that Flo was better suited to be a mauling RT than an agile LT that has to work in space. Having a very young starting LT would make me nervous, sure...but not much more than Flo on the downside of his career.

Pretty much every offseason for the last 3-4 years.
Sure, but without a seemingly adequate replacement for Flo on the roster. Oh, and 3-4 years ago, Flo was still a legit Pro Bowl LT. I don't think there were many (sane) people that wanted him to flip sides then.

And I think many of you should prepare yourself for Colombo to leave. It would piss me off tremendously, but if he hits the open market with all of that free money out there, I could honestly see him getting $6.5-7 mil a year. I don't think Jerry would match/top that.

just gotta hope that if its close he will give the boys the edge: BP was the only guy that gave him a shot- no one else did.

Do you really want to trust Romo's blindside to an untested virtually rookie 7th round draft pick? I don't.

Adam Shefter talked a little bit about Dallas' needs after the Wade Phillips press conference on NFL Network. He said that the team might lose Marc Columbo in free agency, and that if they did, he expected Dallas to take a long look at Leonard Davis. We'll see...It's not like Columbo is out the door yet.

He's better there than at LT. He relies on power, not speed. That's why he struggled after the Cardinals moved him to LT.

Although Columbo had an above average year, he's also coming off major reconstructive surgery and has only had one year like last since he was drafted years ago. Who would hand him 6-7 million a year? That's franchise tackle money. He's no franchise.

I see no reason why he shouldnt get at least the same money that Kosier did. He played better than Kosier.

It was franchise tackle money when the cap was in the 70-80 million dollar range. Not anymore.

For example, Gurode is now one of the top paid centers in the league...even though he only had one good year. That's what a rapidly accelerating cap will do for salaries, and Colombo will be another beneficiary.
