I read about as many local NFL team papers/beat writers as I can. In 2007 the Cowboys went 13-3 and had a 10 game winning streak (IIRC) and outside of Oakland and Miami, no local media was more negative than Dallas' was with the Cowboys.
Think about it for a second. A TEN GAME WINNING STREAK still drew an abundance of criticism, negativity and doom and gloom predictions.
After last season I've come to the conclusion that Dallas has to win the Super Bowl in order to shut the critics up. Even if Dallas had a great season and lost the Super Bowl on a 65 yard field goal and blatantly terribly biased refereeing, I'm convinced that the media would say that Owens ruined the team, Jerry is an idiot, Romo is a choke artist, Marion Barber can't be a starter, and the Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl since 1996.
