If we were to lose here's the reason why

I know we are gonna win and we better( i got $300 riding on it sorry i live in philly so i have to bet these idiots lol).

But if we were to lose here's the reason that terrible ZONE defense!!!

the eagles love the dink and dunk offense because they're a west coast offense team.

Andy reid is ******** and doesn't beleive in running so those soft 7 yard cushions we give up is his way of running the ball.

If they start picking that soft zone defense apart then something opens up deep.

I cant figure out for the life of me why with all this speed (newman, pacman,scandrick,jenkins,) why do we make them play 7 yards off the ball?

teams know that dallas can rush the passer and will take whatever we give them so expect if the eagles take advantage of that zone D something will open up deep maybe on pacman because he likes to gamble and still getting his technique back.

I hope we man up against these garbage wr's like carolina did in the nfc championship years ago and go after mcnabb.

i dont think westbrook gonna kill us because we have speed out there and we're good at stopping the run.

But i really would like us to stay away from the zone because it could get mcflabb in rythym and we may then be in for a game.

I think Cleveland's game plan of max protecting may have had something to do with it.

It wasn't a bad idea at all for Wade to counter that by dropping more into coverage, instead of bringing more blitzers when the Browns were adding extra blockers at the LOS.

Don't expect the Eagles to max protect, FWIW.

I think one thing good that philly has done over the years is do a great job of pressuring qb's on 3rd down.

it can be a long day if a good team can pick up on the pressure but chances are if you have great pass rushers ( ware, ellis) let them go and play man coverage with good cover guys(newman pac and henry).

with the speedy secondary we have they can cover the first 15 yards with ease while we let ware and company go get the qb.

Good point-even Steve Spagnuola(who, of course, was a former pupil for JJ) isn't afraid to bring the heat.

Remember last year, the Giants didn't exactly have the talent level we did on D(especially in their secondary). But nonetheless, SS wasn't afraid to do bring the kitchen sink.

I agree-we need that mindset here.

I don't like how we play that zone either. I do disagree on Westbrook though; he could very well be the difference for the eagles. It would not be the first time he has hurt us and had a big game. The key to beating the eagles is to stop westbrook and run at their blitz IMO.

by doing that they keep the clock running and our offense out of sync.

thats why mcnabb has burned us for years and jeff garcia looked like a hall of famer a few years back.

we give short yardage up to guys who aren't trying to throw that far anyway.

dont say i didnt bring this up but im just not for paying these db's top dollar to play 8 yards off the ball.

These long drives can kill us against a team like the birds and they are dangerous in the redzone because for one mcnabb doesnt throw many int's and he's a threat to run, they have westbrook who can catch out the backfield and is dangerous on the ground, and mcnabb can always flush out of the pocket and hit someone in the endzone like lj smith.

good posts: and we all agree he's the key: he always is with them. I would suggest putting Pac on him. Especially if Newman can go. That would leave Henry and New on the outside WR's and Pac in the slot and/or left to spy westbrook. Look, westbrook is going to get his: he always does. But the key is to contain him and not let him go off. I believe Pac's the guy that has the quicks to do it effectively. Matter of fact, gotta start a thread on that idea.......................

well i dont feel were you coming from. I think Man Coverage is way overrated on this forum. Seriously, esspeciall when we have people to rush there QB.

If we lose its because Proctor couldn't hold up at the point of attack and romo left the game with an injury.

While youre at it, if Newman is healthy put him on Westbrook. BW is their best receiver and Newman is a better tackler.

You guys dont sound too confident here in Cowboy land. I'm not here to start any crap or get kicked out of the forum, but I have to be honest with you and ask this question, why the negativity? Your DB's have been burnt in the past by the so called lousy eagle Wr, Baskett 87 yds for TD. Freddie Mitchell. Honestly, I have to say it's Romo, this guy cannot handle pressure, and I can prove it. And I truely believe this is your main worry. Westbrook will always do his thing, and I have to say that it's up to the eagles offensive line giving McNabb time, and the DB's and Defensive line getting pressure that will decide this game. Both fan sides are pumped up for this game, but I am noticing a much more favorable amount of worrying here then in the Eagles forum.
