If we're not stopping the run at a better rate with all the attention to the DL then what?

Clowney, EZ, Thomas who is playing better for us, Clark, OSA, and you plug in Williams. This is a lot of resources/expensive resources with the big 3 at DT. If we can't be better at stopping the run, what else needs to happen?? Something has to give, LB play needs to be better, but it helps like hell when the DL protects the LBs and allows them to run free, instead of the DL being pushed around into them!!

We've had a rest with the bye week, it's time for this defensive line to play with some grit and act like they want to play better. It just doesn't mean look good in a few games then completely look bad. We all would like to see consistency, something we haven't seen in a while!! Please give your thoughts!!
it will surely help. it has to...but LBs are key to make sure they attack the right holes and cover the running lanes. when Murray keeps going to the wrong holes and allows the RBs run free in the secondary, then there isn't much you can do.

If we can’t stop the run now, at least up the middle. I’m still gonna have to see about setting the edge.

If we don't look better period all of this was in vein
I don’t know about coaching what’s going to happen, but I think we’re gonna look drastically different on defense, the rookie corner opposite bland, a new starting middle linebacker, and defensive tackle rotation, that’s gonna help the rookie end from Boston College this will change time of possession, will have more opportunities on offense, will be able to stop somebody. The whole thing flows when you win in the pits

Clowney Williams Clark Ezeiruaku

Wilson Overshown

If they can't stop the run still then everyone has to start looking at the scheme/DC.
it’s a good start. I love Overshown as much as everyone else but people seem to forget his strengths and weaknesses. He isn’t going to sit in the middle of the field as a Mike, take on blocks and still make the plays. He is going to run all over the place, shoot gaps, chase things down, blow things up and make splash plays while also being out of position some times. More importantly we don’t even know if he will be healthy. Perhaps Wilson will be that stable guy in the middle. I have high hopes but I am cautious over Cincy flat out benching him while they were still in it for rookies who weren’t exactly playing well. I know he was going to be cut next year but they still had a shot this year when they benched him. I like Clark but he has made his money in his career penetrating and pressuring QBs.

Give Dak an extension and raise of course-duh!

What's this stuff about our defense focusing on H.I.T.S. Hustle, intensity, takeaways, and smarts. Is that an Eberfluff thing? I'll admit they're close. It almost describes our defense, but for one alteration. Take the S and move it to the front of the word. That's our D.

Now that’s funny right there if you can’t laugh at that you need to get out of here cause that’s funny - LTCG

Wilson is the mike. Clark is a run stopping NT who can also play the 3T, he has some rush ability but he's a run stopper first. Williams is a 3T who can play along the line but he is one of the best run stopping DL in the league and is also a a better pass rusher than Osa. Had 12 sacks a few years ago, although 6 sacks is more his avg. Compares favorably to Jalen Carter.

EZE still isn't a great run stopper. He's light for a DE but hopefully he'll bulk up to 260-265 and maintain his quickness. Regardless, I'm not a fan of Eberflus scheme

And Murray was drafted in 2020 and has always done that. He plays 100% as his scouting report indicated. The majority of players do.

But Clark is not a "run stopping NT" first. He has never been that "first". He earned his contract as a DT who could push a pocket and penetrate and also play the run "ok". He often played alongside a NT in GB for this reason.

You don't know what you are talking about. He used to play as a NT in a 3-4 defense for the packers. Wyatt is a 304 pound 3T. Wooden is 273 pounds. Brooks 296 pounds.

I believe Murray may be playing out of position at MLB. He doesn't have MLB instincts. I believe he will hopefully be better at OLB.
