He really displayed some decent ability in limited action last year to potentially be successful as our strong safety in 2017. He'll undoubtedly have an advantage over the rookies with his prior experience in that capacity, so there's also that to consider.

Needless to say, Heath will have some stiff competition at some point from some quite talented rookies behind him. Kavon Frasier and especially Xavier Woods quickly come to mind. Woods, as many of us should recall, created quite a stir when he was drafted.

At some point, Woods could potentially mount a challenge, although it wouldn't necessarily be a serious threat at the outset of TC and the regular season. It seems to me like it might well be Heath's job to lose early on in 2017. What conceivably might happen beyond that should prove interesting if Woods proceeds to demonstrate the ball skills that he had in college. We'll see what's likely to happen, given due time.
