If you were drafted into the NFL by another team...

I would become the Cowboy's worst nightmare my first 4 years in the league.

Then when I become a free agent I tell the Cowboys that I will give them a "hometown discount" if they sign me.

I go to the team, happy, and when I come up for free agency, I court the Cowboys for all I'm worth, telling them I'll give them a discount if they let me play for them. It's all about the star on the helmet at that point.

Now, as to the play in the Championship game... I stuff MBIII in the backfield or hammer the real RW as he tries to catch the ball and do my best for the team I'm playing for. The Cowboys wouldn't want someone on their team that didn't go all out, all the time, on every play, regardless of the circumstances.

Whatever team drafted me would get my allegiance as long as I was on their roster. BTW, I see no bad news in getting drafted by ANY team in the NFL...it's all great news.

I could still pull for the Boys when it did not affect the team I was on. How could I not?

Thats what I would do, something along those lines, i would let the eagles, the giants and Commanders know i dont like them and i wouldnt play for them at all. In fact in tryouts, I would like fake a hamstring or something when other teams are looking at me. Yet, when I ran for the cowboys in tryouts, I would give it my all.

I would play as hard as i could in college games to get the experience, etc against other top notch players, learning schemes etc, but I would only show good times, weight lifting for the cowboys. In fact, say I got invited to combine, I would do less, but ask privately for a workout for the cowboys.

Soooo, you're hoping Dallas won't be holding character in high regard then?

I agree with some of the posters in here. I would play my heart out every play, every game, even for the Commanders, Eagles, (yack!), then when I become a free agent, I would offer to play for less for the Cowboys.

Of course with my luck, I would have the franchise tag put on me.

The only reason I'm a fan of these guys is cause they can do things that I can't do. If i'm a peer than I pretty much lose interest in being a fan and pledge my loyalty to who ever gave this kid his break.

Any team that passed on my services I will break your QB's legs and your fans hearts. Although I might just push the Cowboy QB to the ground rather then leveling him.

Being the die-hard Cowboys fan that you are, what would you do if you were a rookie that just got drafted into the NFL by a team other than the Cowboys. How would you handle it? Even worse yet, what if you were drafted by a team in the NFC East? Would you still do your job and quietly root for the Cowboys? What if you were in a position against the Cowboys, in the NFC Championship, game on the line, Dallas is up by 3 with 10 seconds left, and the game will fall in your hands with a chance to win for your team. Would you go for the victory, or let "unfortunate fate" allow the Cowboys a trip to the Super Bowl?

Just curious to hear everyones thoughts.

I would not think of the Cowboys at all I would be too busy doing what I needed to do to help the team I was on. There are 32 teams and if you are lucky enough to play for any other them count your blessing

I'd do my best to punish the Boys every chance I got because they probably chose some other players over me. I'd root for them when I wasn't against them though.

The only team I would not want to be drafted by is the Commanders. I consider that franchise to be racist and I would not want to play there under any circumstance. I would have alerted them ahead of time to my feelings as I think that is the honorable thing to do.

My goal to play in the NFL would make just about any other franchise palatable just to reach a dream.

Zach Thomas managed a great career. Others have too. I might not like being drafted by many other teams, but it would not have changed my goals.

How so, They traded up in the first to grab a black QB, had the only black QB to win a SB and they dish out big money to old past their prime black players....

To me, it depends on how good of a player I am.

If I am a first day pick, I go to wherever I am chosen.

If not, I go to wherever I have the best shot to play and make an impact. I would throw the fact that my favorite team is the Cowboys right out the window.

Are you insane, man!
Is this a very horribly gone wrong opium dream?
Please, have a sense of decorum!
To entertain such thoughts is like liking your girl cousin. hmmm. As I was saying, terrible thought.

The thought naseates me and makes me nasual.

Take the job.

Seriously. You might not like it at all but is living a dream and a way to a means.

If you have leverage to go to another team besides your biggest rival than do it.
