I'll be surprised if we beat the Bears

Anyone else feel this way?

I think we have a pretty good team, don't get me wrong. But I just feel like this team we're playing is going to be extremely fired up in front of a Sunday night crowd, and that can make a huge difference, especially on defense. Their quick DL is the kind that seems to give our big guys problems, and their LBs and DBs are very opportunistic. Of course Urlacher is one of the best players in the game.

It's not so much that I think our team isn't that good, although I do think we have some fairly significant weaknesses. It's more that I think people are underestimating a very good and very experienced defense playing in front of their home crowd.

Plus, as bad as Grossman is overall, he can get on hot streaks and hit everything he looks at for short periods of time. I hope we aren't catching him at just the wrong time.

Maybe I'm wrong. The Dolphins D is always tough at home, and we did well against them. Maybe Rex will melt down and throw the ball up to us like everyone thinks. Maybe Ware will come on and get two or three big sacks.

But if we do win this game, I think it will say a lot about our team, because I think the Bears are pretty good.

what concerns me about teams like this and the dolphins is that they have very strong, speedy, effective DLines. I was worried about how our OL would hold up against the Dolphins, and they were better than I expected.

That game did a lot to quell worries I had.

I expect us to win but I expect us to win every game. A 3-0 start would be nice (not as good as 6-0 but you get my drift).

Yeah-the Bears seem to play their best football on national tv AND when alot is on the line.

Remember the Saints in the NFCCG(especially with EVERY pundit picking an easy Saints win)? Remember the Giants on NBC last year, as well as the Hawks?

Lovie may seem mild mannered, but he seems to do a VERY good job motivating his team.

This is kind of what worries me.

Everytime Sexy Rexy gets close to being benched, he comes out with an inspired down the field passing game. With our secondary, the situation is just ripe for him to hold on to his job a couple more weeks.

Yhea, if the game was in Dallas I would still wonder about it, but being in Chicago on primetime we already have our backs to the wall.

I have always believed great defense beats great offense. I do not expect Dallas to score a lot. Our Defense is going to have to make sure the game is in reach for our offense. This Chicago defense is very, very good. I think they have the best defense in the NFL, I really do.

I do not think we win this one, and that pains me to say, because I almost always think we are going to win.

If we do, I think that says a lot about this team. If our O-Line plays like it has the first 2 games then we may win it, but that is one tall order, the Bears D makes most o-Lines look like chumps.

This will be a tough game for us to win, esp because it's on the road.

But we need to see how the Cowboys measure up to a really good team.

I stand by what I said a couple weeks ago,

The Cowboys will be a better second half of the season team this year.

It's going to take the defense some time to gel. Plus, we get some quality guys back the 2nd half of the season, including Newman, T. Glenn and Ellis. And hopefully Tank can contribute a bit as well.

And maybe we can also integrate a guy like Stanbach for several "gadget" plays the 2nd half of the season (i.e., our Slash) . . . .

no, cant say I'd be that surprised

they just played the Chiefs, who I am pretty sure are one of the 3 or 4 worst teams in the league, at home, and managed only 20 pts (13 offense, 7 punt return) and a puny 239 yds of total offense...they averaged 3.6yds per pass attempt...Grossman was sacked 3 times and Bears had 3 turnovers...they also had only one real drive the entire game

so no, I cant say I'd be all that surprised if we won...

I thought Rex played well against SD, as did his OL(they were a Berrian bad route away from having a 10-0 lead at half). They were controlling the tempo of that game throughout-it was the RBs that costed them.

Not to nitpick, but that KC D is pretty good(they lost to Houston the same way-non O TDs)-it's the O that blows chunks.

It was alot like when we played the Giants-powerhouse O, but no D from them.

I'm not worried at all! I was more worried about the Fins than this game. And the reason I am not worried is because of one man...Jason Garrett!

This guy has seen it all and he will know exactely how to ATTACK the Bears' defense...I really believe that. Also, think about it. This offense has some damn good talent...Romo, Witten, T.O., the biggest reported offensive line...Barber, JJ...Hurd...McBriar...you get my drift...

This is not last years team! I think this team is out to prove to everyone that what you have been seeing the last few years is NOT what you are going to see THIS YEAR. Nobody knows, even us fans, noone knows...and it all starts with Garrett and his method of attack...

We might lose the game, but it will be a fight till the end...and I expect that the Cowboys will come out with another "W"...the Bears are not going to blow the Cowboys out, and it just might, it just might, be the other way around...

I think it all comes down to grossman and if he gets their O going.. dallas i think can score on the bears D. not a lot but I know we can, especially with a mobile Romo and T.O running loose.

So if we go 6-2 in the first half, we'll go 7-1 the second half?

I can live with that.;)
