If you are going into the jungle to fight a gorilla you bring a big stick! He may have also said that you punch him in the nose! We had a Monday night showdown with the hated Skins in their home park, this may have been 91 timeframe. We'll Jimmy had us come out firing, we brought all the heavy duty artillery that night and left with a win. No ***** footing around taking what the defense allowed, Jimmy was in all out attack mode that evening and quite frankly it was probably the only way that we could get the win. Anyway, this is exactly how we need to be on Sunday. All out attack on offense and take it to them, balls to the wall. No conservative bs to feel them out, punch them in the nose early and it will be glorious!

Anyone else remember that game, was it 91 ?

Really, could have sworn it was a night game...long time ago my friend but those were the days. Jimmy was just so damn cocky...how could his teams not feed off of that.

Will also add that I think the Skins were undefeated to that point.

Actually, the Cowboys won both. In November 91 and the 92 season opener.

So for strategy purposes, what does everyone think we should do if we win the toss? Am I crazy to want to see the D out there first?

I would go D first

I know you risk putting yourself in a hole early, but I want the ball in the second half.

Take the ball if you win the toss.

Their kick returner can return every kick & why give Peyton first shot?

No, good idea sometimes but I say do him like SD did Romo and make him stand on the sidelines as much as possible. Win the TOP war.

This isn't a gorilla fight, this is trying to out run a cheetah.

I think we should try an out score them.

Afterward, here is what Jimmy stated he said beforehand:

“I told the players, ‘Don’t ever hit a guy lightly. If you have a big ol’ gorilla in front of you, you don’t tap him on the shoulder.’ And I threw a punch at [guard] John Gesek, and I told them, “If I hit him lightly, I’ll get killed. I’d better take my best shot.’

Wow, thx for the link. Kinda creepy that Spags and I both have the same memories of that game. Yep, that Jimmy was the man here in Dallas. Thx...

Jimmy always had his teams hungry and ready. No robots.

The current regime hasn't had a fire under their ***** in 15 years.

Jimmy was the man. If only we could find another Jimmy. Jimmy knew when to hold em, and knew when to fold them.
