I'm finally going to Japan

Been a long time since I travelled there, and most of the customs I remember are from dining....

- It's okay to slurp in the noodle houses. Actually shows you enjoy it.
- It's okay to use fingers in sushi places. Americans think chopsticks are for that but everywhere I went they were using fingers.
- If you stay in anyone's home, take off shoes, and custom for family to share same bath to wash off before sleeping.
- Extremely polite culture. But if you travel with women, don't be surprised if they do something that wouldn't be accepted in America. (like pinching the ***)

High speed rail goes all over the place. I enjoyed the countryside much more than Tokyo. Highly recommend you check it out and visit some of the shrines, volcanoes, samurai relics, etc... The countryside in Japan is one of the most scenic I've seen.

Always fun to be young and travel abroad. Excited you get to experience this.

I'm excited, and looking forward to doing that with the noodles haha. I do like Japanese-style ramen.

Another funny thing and I'm sure it still applies.... their toilets were so much more advanced than American toilets. LOL. Digital pads. Even 20-30 years ago they had digital panels, bidet options, etc...

And if you get a rental car, don't know what laws are in Japan on that, but be prepared for extremely narrow lanes. The highway in particular is crazy. No wiggle room at all.

The toilets, I've heard, are incredible. They're an incredibly advanced country in a lot of ways, and the scenery looks amazing.

Yeah, that might be a problem lol. I
I don't want to get eaten.
I liked for a short period in Japan, so I got used to everything. One thing I noticed is that once I got back to America, the food grossed me out. I had lost my taste fast food, greasy food, hamburgers, etc... It was weird, I had just gotten used to a lot more less processed fish, rice, veggies, etc. Don't worry, I got my fast food vibe back very quickly, and my recent cholesterol test proves it, but really brought to light for me what diet changes can do.

I can imagine, and one of my brothers said something similar how refreshing and tasteful their food is compared to ours.
