It happens time after time and it did again with this thread. A Post is made with a Point made and within 2 to 4 posts that Point has been changed to something else. Example, I(OP) made a Point about Olinemen and right away it changed to Romo being better than Locker and Boys better then Titans--Why?? This just starts negative posts. My gun is bigger then your gun--no it's not--yes it is-no it's not.

I can see why the moderaters are warning posters, negative posters, that they will not tolerate this negativity. Be warned the Hammer is going to fall.

Boys rankings suck.......this guy was the best center in the draft(Barrett Jones not healthy) and we ended up reaching for a guy in the first round who most likely will be pushed aside by Phil Costa

I like that some people have taken "I love the Titans interior line" and turned it to "I love the Titans entire team and they are better than the Cowboys in every conceivable way.", just so they can't have some kind of reply that doesn't acknowledge that yes, the Titans having the makings of a good interior line.

Or, maybe those posts were prompted by the OP posting drivel like, "They accomplished in this short span what we've been trying for years to do, and haven't come close. Someone should post the Titans Interior Oline in Jerry's office so he can see it every day."

Oh please. If you don't want people comparing us to the Titans, don't post nonsense like, "Someone should post the Titans Interior Oline in Jerry's office so he can see it every day."

Ok. The Titans have a wonderful interior OL. If we're going to keep it in the Fan Zone, people are going to relate it to the Cowboys and compare other aspects of the team as well as the OL. Put this in the NFL Zone if someone wants to sit there and just say "Boy, some random team in the league has upgraded part of the OL. Sure is perty ain't it?"

In a 1-2 month span the Titans solidified their Interior Oline for the next 5-10 years. Levitre-RG, Warmack-LG, Schwenke-C/G backup--WOW!!! Yeah I know they had some different circumstances than the Cowboys, but what a bonanza. They had some cap space in order to get Levitre and picked 10th, meaning bad record in 2012, to get Warmack and Schwenke just fell to them. They accomplished in this short span what we've been trying for years to do, and haven't come close. Someone should post the Titans Interior Oline in Jerry's office so he can see it every day.

You mean the guy with the bad knee... http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/search/Levitre

Buffalo had plenty of space to resign him... but didn't.

Just speaking for myself, my point was more this theme has developed that because we don't have an all-star O-line, the entire team is crippled and we can't even hope to compete at all. It's almost like high picks and big FAs on the O like are all that matter. There are a lot more important positions on the team, like by far the most important one -- QB.

QB is the most important position on the team. Other than that, there are no more important players on the field than your linemen.

Even putting aside Locker's problems, their defense was 32nd in the NFL in points allowed (almost 30 points per game!!) and then they put most of their resources into the interior OL. :laugh2: :laugh2: This is what happens when you hand the keys of your organization over to an ex-Offensive lineman. Oh well, at least Munchak gets one year with his beloved vanity pet project OL before he's fired next offseason.

I sure some here at CZ think they're going to contend for a Superbowl and "win in teh trenchez!!" because they have two guards with names they recognize.

This was just the post I was going to make. Well, except I wasn't going to use the word 'drivel.' But the OP invited the comparison to the Cowboys.

Either way, the Titans have some issues, but if placing a premium on OG is, after all, the way to go, it should show up somewhere in their play next season. I guess we'll see what happens.

IMO, a team can never over allocate resources for quality OLinemen.

If building a team, I would want to get the OLine in place 1st. It is the area of a football that often takes the longest to gel as a unit.

The number of QBs that can excel behind a great OLine with a good/great running game is a much larger pool to choose from than the pool of QBs that can be great without a running game and without great pass protection.

A great OLine and a good/great running game not only helps a QB, but it also helps the defense by running more time off the clock.

I don't want to derail the point of the thread - which isn't to argue about what is more important, QB or OL - but I, for one, am THRILLED that the conversation has changed from skill positions to the interior.

Only the last couple of offseasons has there been a sizable contingent on this board that is very vocal about the trenches and there are those that just want them to shut up so that we can go back to arguing over tight ends, cornerbacks and wide receivers as per usual.

Not so much how I see those discussions going, at all. I think everybody recognizes the importance of pass protection in having quality QB play. The question is only what's the most effective way to get adequate pass protection in terms of FA dollars and high draft picks.

Either way, it's a good debate; there's no reason for anybody to try to shut it up.

Lol what does all of the QB talk have to with a thread about o-line? I'll gladly take Chris Johnson + that o line over Demarco and o line as long as we are stating irrelevant facts.

This isn't 1965 or even 1995 when you had to run the ball. Time to climb out of the stone age Dr. Cliche.
