I'm on the total oppsite side I'm quite happy. I like the upgrades we've made and can see a bright future. We have drafted very good this past year and we are on a up swing IMO. Our cap is in good standing and other than Sunday's blow out we've been in every game. I know we'd like to win them all but man just knowing how close we are with another good draft and some improvements on the O-Line and who knows where we could be at next year. I also think the switch to the 34 has been big for us.

I think we will make some trades in the offseason and unlike some of you I still trust in bill. I keep hearing Campo never lost to the skins blah blah but look at where the team was when BP came in how many Draft picks are still here from his time or Chans? I can see most of BP's picks being here for years to come. I think Petitti will be outstanding on the line he's a Rookie and gone against some of the best in the game I think the sky's the limit for him.

IMO I think we have more to look forward to than be down about.

A season can be judged by the number of meaningful games. Even if the team is the best, some games aren't meaningful. 15+ meaningful games is an exciting season. 20 is the most you can possibly have.

I agree! At the start of the year if we were offered 9-7/10-6 and a promising future, we would have jumped on it. Everyone got excited and started talking Superbowl. The cooler heads knew this was a reach. We have made significant improvement and have played well against one of the tougher schedules in years.

I believe that the heart of the team is in place and only now can Parcells truely evaluate the team's needs. After last year, the needs were so many that an proper evaluation couldn't be performed! We all see what is needed to put the team over the hump and into championship contention. I am sure that Bill and Jerruh can, as well.

This year was a success even if we just miss the playoffs.

Consider this. The NFC is down this year and the Eagles in particular are in a shambles and yet, we're in 3rd place in our division. We had a 'great draft' and free agency, yet are underachieving and Bill doesn't know why. With Farve being at the end of his career and missing vital pieces of his offense and McNabb,Culpepper and Bulger missing many games, the Cardinals, Rams, Giants and Eagles have higher yards per game passing than we do. What is your optimism based on, certainly not on Bledsoe and our OL.

Let's see -- good start derailed somewhat by injuries. Lost our starting LT, MLB, and OLB, big time CB missing games, JJ missing a few.

It is the kind of stuff that teams have to deal with -- but we are what we are -- a decent team that is a year away. Another good draft and a handful of mid-range FAs and we'll have the quality and depth to endure that sort of stuff.

Oh yeah. We are still in the playoff hunt.

I can also say that I'm not dissapointed in our season. Considering all the players that got hurt. I am however, dissapointed that we don't have quality backups that could have done a better job? I put that on Bill.

I don't know this, but maybe someone can answer this question.

Have other teams this year or in past years, lost starters like we did and didn't miss a beat? They went on to have a better record and made the playoffs?

9-7 is a good year where you think about all the what-if's. But Dallas has been 5-5 in close games and 3-1 in blow outs. That's to be expected.

I am happy with 9-7 - very happy with 10-6

It was a disapointment as 3 weeks ago we looked to be a contender for NFC title.
Now we look like a 4th seeded wildcard hope.

Last year the Bills were 9-6 after 15. The offense was scoring at a record pace during a 9-2 stretch. That following a road drought in 2003 and early 2004. Their running game with McGahee was the main force. Drew didn't have to pull any last minute comebacks because they were scoring 38 points per game and their defense and special teams per playing awesome. Sadly, they shot the bed in the final game vs. Pittsburgh. I think they overlooked Pitt and their 2nd stringers came to play.

I'm glad the Cowboys have had a better year. They drafted well and showed improvement. Till the Skins game we were in every single game.

With all that being said though this team has many problems and still has issues to address. Beginning with a coaching staff that seems clueless when the team is completely flat. I heard that Bill didn't even talk to the team at halftime. Huh? Why not? Isn't that his JOB? That disappoints me.

I think when the season is over we'll all look back with alot of frustration at games that they should and could have won. But should and could have don't matter...they didn't.

I agree with jksmith and fortD.

I think Cowboys fans had too lofty of ambitions.

Yes, we had a great draft. But these guys still have to learn the game. And I heard Bill Parcells (or someone) say that we can't even run have our defense, run stunts, because the defense is still learning the 3-4.

I can understand going with Bledsoe this year, and I believe his veteran leadership allowed us to stay competitive. I disagree with most fans saying we should "OPEN UP" the offense because against the wrong team we could have been in many 35-7 games, on the losing end.

As for Bill not saying anything to the team, what could you say. Sometimes, you know when you're whipped, and Parcells could see it. Yes, he should get the team up to play this game, but if the teams not up there's only so much you can do. These players have to WANT it. If playing a division rival who beat you in the closing seconds and who, if you beat, you keep yourself in contention for the NFC East crown can't get you motivated, no coach is going to be able to.

As for the close games, we are what we are. I wouldn't meditate too hard on those close games as if "dang, if we just did THIS we would have won."

But our close games were a product of where we are as a team. If we were a dominant team, we wouldn't be in so many close games.

We are an average team, slightly above average. But even if we got to the playoffs and miraculously got to the Super Bowl, we would have been exposed by any AFC team.

Looking to the future, if we lose the Panthers game and that knocks us out of the playoffs, I hope we start Romo. We need to see whether Romo or Henson can give us anything. I don't think Bledsoe is going to take us very far.

We need to start looking into a young QB who could possibly move in the pocket.

I will be a lot less disappointed if we finally address some offensive needs in this years draft. At least this season has shown Bill he needs to address offense, and badly.

So what happens if our O line plays 5x better next year? Are we going to start from scratch with a new QB? For all of our problems, I feel that Bledsoe is near the bottom. BTW, what point were you trying to make with all the QB's you named and the 4 teams with more passing yards? We played the Eagles WITH McNabb, TWICE, and Culpepper was possibly the worst QB in the NFC this year BEFORE his injury. Everyone's got problems, it's how well you deal with those problems that determine your success.

First, let me state that I am a Parcell cynic. At the same time, I disagree with most of my fellow cynics in regards to Parcell's playcalling. I respect his playcalling and I agree that you can't open the offense when there is no protection. We are forced to max protect. I think Parcells has managed to overachieve with the talent on this team. However, Parcells is responsible for the lack of talent on this team. We lack depth in several key areas of this team that we could have easily addressed in the offseason with some journeymen free agents. Again, I'm not saying we needed to sign Randy Moss at receiver but Tai Streets was available and there were several more restricted free agent options. Injuries will always happen. However, if you have adequate depth on your team, you can offset those injuries to some degree. We can't keep playing the "Oh poor us, we had too many injuries." At some point, we can't keep ignoring the lack of depth on this team the way we have been the last 10 years.

Yeah, Drew even came out and apoligized for the game against Pittsburgh. Everybody did their job but him. He actually had some poor games during that stretch, but like you said, it didn't matter because his teammates took up the slack. No matter how good a job they do this offseason, it won't matter if Drew is still here gumming up the works.
