but if we do make the playoffs, we have a pretty playoff experienced team. We have a great balance of youth and experience that can be quite frankly scary.

Guys with playoff experience on offense:
Bledsoe
ATrain
Glenn
Key
Witten
Campbell
Price
LA
Gurode
Rivera
Brooks
Romo

Defensive experience:
Henry
Ellis
Glover
Fergy
Roy
Fujita?
James
Dat
Ognbvdssdhgu
Newman
Glenn

Thats quite a few guys that not only have been there, but have won games as well. This is getting better by the day.

Bill is not just building a team to win now,he's building
Jerry another long term payoff on his investment. When
Bill is gone, this team will still be paying dividends, and any
good coach,or maybe even Jimmy, will be salivating to lead
this team.

Gotta win home field. I don't see us winning at Carolina, Atlanta, or someplace cold.

Why? We're built to play in cold weather.

Whats wrong with Carolina or Atlanta? One is in North Carolina and the other is in a dome. I dont see Seattle winning homefield unless they win 11 games this year. IMO it will be us/Giants/Atlanta/Carolina all fighting for HFA when December comes. Commanders D were exposed and Eagles are hurting.

I would not include Romo on this list. I don't believe he's ever actually played in a playoff game.

No he didn't play, but he was put through the mental preparation that BP put all his players through during the playoffs. Its not actual game experience, but going through the process and being in the enviornment of Carolina gives you an idea of whats going to happen again.

Any of the guys who have only the one losing effort by the Cowboys in '03 on their resume for playoff experience don't count. That was an embarrassment experience not playoff experience.

Still, we do have some good experience on there with even a couple of SB appearances to draw upon. I like what we bring to the table should we…WHEN WE make the playoffs.

Really, how so? Quincy was our starter, Hutchinson our back up. Romo would have been third string. That would mean that he ran scout. Probably wasn't too involved with game plan. He never played a snap. I would take a player who has played a full season with no playoff experience over a player in simular circumstances to Romo. I'm not even certain he was on the active roster for any games in that season. I just don't believe he could have gotten much out of that particular experience.

I'll give you an example, I used to coach Div.I basketball at JSU. We had a point guard that sat the bench behind 2 other guards for 3 years. Never even saw the court, but when tourney time came around, we practiced everyone like they would play. You can't just get your regulars ready, everyone has to have a sense of readiness. For 3 years he never saw action, but practiced his *** off for the tourney. In 2000, our 2nd string PG went down in the 1st round of the playoffs and he was forced into action. He played his *** off for us in his first time playing in the tourney and made several key plays for us when we won the tournament championship. Get this, we go on to play Hostiles University of Arizona in the first round of the NCAA tourney. This same U of A team was comprised of Gilbert Areanas, Richard Jefferson, Loren Woods (who didn't play) and Jason Gardner. Who would started for us, that same PG I'm speaking of, Mr. Myers. He took over for our starting PG and actually played Gardner to a draw. We lost, but the way we prepared him and the experience of three years worht of tourney play, gave him a comfort zone that just allowed him to play ball. You don't allows have go through game experience to actualy have game experience. Some guys just have the mentallity that when they get their chance, they will get the job done.

Totally disagree. They played and they felt how it was to lose in a pressure packed game. That counts.

Basketball is completely different then playing QB in the Pro's. The third QB does not get worked with. He throws into a trash can 30 yards down field etc. It's not the same. Your not even on the active squade which means you don't even hold on kicks. You can make the case that him being on the team helps and perhaps, to a small degree, it does. However, it's all about experience and the experience of actually playing in games, any game, is much more valuable then being the 3rd string QB on a team in the playoffs.

Typically I would agree with you, but we don't know how hard Romo worked that week, even on the scout team. His mentality and the experience of being in there in Carolina is worth every penny. You dress, you get the talk, you walk out of the tunnel, your listening to the adjustments, you feel the frustration of the players and coaches and you realize the **** is for real. Romo knows what to expect playoff week, unlike a DeMarcus Ware and Ware has played every game this year.

If we don't know, then we can't say that he did or didn't work hard. We can't say that it benifited him greatly or not. We can, however, go off of past statements by Bill Parcells, in regards to the third QB spot. In the past, Parcells has made it abundantly clear that the majority of work, for the 3rd string QB comes in the off season mini camps, training camp and pre-season. He has said that when the season comes, the coaching staff is involved in gettting the starter and the back up ready to play. The 3rd QB is pretty much on there own many times. This, to me, does not re-inforce the idea of Romo having much in the way of benifical experience and coaching for the playoffs. As for Ware vs Romo's experience, well, I doubt many would agree with you on this board. If asked the question, who would you rather have sitting out in a playoff game this year, Ware or Romo, I believe the answer would overwhelmingly be Romo. JMO.

Your missing the point. He was there. In the locker room, on the field, listening to the crowd, hearing the frantic debates between players and coaches, players and players, and coaches and coaches. He understands the intensity of the situation. You bring your lunch pale for this week. The rookies don't know yet. Romo does, even without stepping on the field. It may not prepare you physically, but it does mentally. Thats why he is on the list.
