He just retired last year and he would be a much better alternative than Weeden. If he isn't doing anything should we and do we make the call to bring him back?

Lets face it. Weeden is not going to cut it for us and with how Romo's back is hurting and needing a true backup at QB, I think Kitna should be looked at as a possible alternative.

I thought after the preseason that we should have made Dustin Vaughan the backup over Weeden and I still feel the same way.

I'd rather not dust of Kitna again.

Would love him back but don't think he's interested in returning. He's well established in life after football. He and his wife are now both school teachers (life long dream of his) and he's also the coach of middle school (I believe) football team in WA state. Also very influential in the community youth programs there. I say he's content, not to mention already pretty rich!!!

The thought of bringing back Kitna shows the desperation with which we need a viable alternative when Romo is unable to go. It would be so great to have one for just one more game and allow Romo to heal for two weeks. We don't and won't have that luxury so Romo will be the tough guy that he is and make the flight overseas to play in London. Now he is earning Jerry's money.

I have to agree. I would rather see what Vaughan has to offer. I have read good things from scouts and he showed flashes during pre season. I for one cannot see him being any worse than Weeden.

I'd be bringing in Pryor and Tebow.

Yes Tebow!

At least the guy can run with this line and running game.

And you know that Jerry would love that publicity!

I think at this point of the season we are stuck with what we have. Kitna isn't coming back and who else do you get at the half way point to learn the system? This is our 2014-2015 team.

Agree, why not, he can't be worse than Weeden.

He showed in the preseason that he has better touch than Weeden.

He showed in the preseason that he reads coverages better than Weeden.

He showed in the preseason that he has a better feel for pressure and how to handle it than Weeden.

The only thing Weeden seemed to do better than Vaughan was throw the ball really, really hard.

I know a lot of people feel you shouldn't rush rookies into action, but enough have shown that if they've got it, they've got it. I think Vaughan has something and I'd rather him be given a shot even if he fails to get some game experience.

I thought Weeden deserved to be cut after the preseason because it was pretty clear that he's not an NFL quarterback, but I knew Dallas wouldn't do that and just go with young arms behind Romo. Sometimes teams overvalue experience.

Lol I said, Tebow would have been better than what we witnessed yesterday. With that being said... we will not be making backup qb changes in the middle of the season. This isn't madden.

I liked Kitna he was a very good backup who led the Cowboys to 4 wins in 2010 including a win on the road vs a Peyton Manning led Colts team after Romo was lost for the season. However he's 42 years old and hasn't taken a snap since the 2011 season. I know the Cowboys are in bad shape with their backup QB position but bringing in old man Kitna who's been sitting around for 3 years isn't going to work.
