I'm really looking forward to this game with Cincinnati I've been watching these guys on HardKnocks and Marvin has these guys playing really physical. I'm curious as to how we respond to that. It's going to be good test for Frederik vs Atkins as well. It's going to be interesting to see if we try to establish the run vs their very stout defense.

I'd really like to see the boys come out and smash mouth 'em but I won't hold my breath.

They plan to play Free at RG and Parnell at RT, with Bern at LG. This will be interesting to watch, particularly Free vs. Atkins. If he wins that match-up (don't bet on it) this will likely be our starting line in game 1 if Leary can't go (and even with that it may only mean he switches out with Bern.)

I hope Dez burns Newman. Wouldn't hate to see Pacman get torched either. Just a little preseason fun

Have you been watching HK? Is it me or are these guys playing some tough football?

Don't bet on free beating Atkins? I'll bet that Atkins destroys free

I'm looking forward to it too....and they should present a severe challenge.
But it still preseason.
I just watched New England lose by 30+ to the Panthers.

Last year if I'm remembering this right, Livings at left guard had most of the snaps against Atkins. But they moved him around and he was matched against Bern a few times. I hope we get to see Atkins against all of them - Bern, Free, Fred, Arkin. He's a pretty good acid test for an interior lineman. That's why I was really looking forward to seeing Leary play this game before his knee scope. He looked good enough against a couple of teams with marginal lines or players out, and I wanted to see him against Atkins. But hey, seeing Free on like his fourth day at guard ever (at least as a pro) against Atkins should be interesting, I hope not in a horror-movie kind of way.

We should probably start Stephens just in case. lol

Watching the Oline will be interesting indeed, but I'm more excited to see what the defense can do. The defense has been very good so far in my estimation. I've been waiting for the "dress rehearsal" to get a bigger sample size against a tough offense. They have two athletic pass catching TEs that should give us a good idea of what we have in the way of coverage with our LBs and FS/SS. Gio Bernard is really shifty and I wanna see how well Lee and Carter contain him. The secondary will have their hands full with AJ Green and Mohamed Sanu looks like he's becoming a legitimate threat as a #2 WR. Just wish Mo was available to go toe to toe with Green, but otherwise I'm excited to see this defense.

Good test tonight, I don't think we showed up for the last game, so that's the first test.

If we do well I think it bodes well for the season.
if we get it handed to us, well; Some will say "it's only pre-season" some will say "we're doomed" I'll likely be in the middle somewhere.

i'm not. this Free at RG experiment has me seriously worried about Romo's health

I'm not expecting the offense to do much of anything so I'm just hoping to see no injuries. Very excited to see the defense showcase their stuff in the dress rehearsal though

I would like to see Arkin against Atkins.

My guess is that the OLine for the opening series will be: Smith-Arkin-Fred-Bern-Free. If Free gets reps at RG, I expect it to be in the 2nd or 3rd quarter.

I could be wrong, but I think it's been reported that the Cowboys plan to start a lineup of Smith-Bern-Fred-Free-Parnell

Will be concentrating on watching the offensive and defensive line play... need to see a consistant running attack on offense and some inside pressure from the D-line and able to stop the Cincy running attack which is pretty good....this team is only going as far as those two units take them....

Has this Bengal team changed a lot from the one the Cowboys beat in the regular season last year?

I think we all know that we got lucky in that game. We all know it. No, they haven't changed much. Still have a great defensive line, an up and coming QB, one of the top 3 receivers in the game today...and Terence Newman. We're good. LOL.

This will be a very good test, Cincy is a very good team, very physical also so I can't wait to see how we measure up with them.
